Rodney Fernandez Rivers, Daly City native / Vallejo raised, better known to the people as Rodney-O or Rod Roc, began as a bedroom DJ in 1994. Created mobile DJ crew; Mixology Entertainment with fellow friends/DJs (rbtron, phraze, jay z, dvs1) in 96'. Then eventually joined local legendary Daly City crew; Second To None, along with fellow DJ; Jay Z in 1999. Then soon after soakin' up game from the STN O.G.'s, Rod Roc started rockin' parties around the Bay Area and showcasing/opening for cats like DJ Rhettmatic, Black Eyed Peas, Jurassic 5, Fingerbangerz, Moonrocks, Living Legends, Top Rawmen, The Earthlings, and Saul Williams. Also got a taste of the battle scene by participating in Guitar Center's 1999 Spin-Off Battle. In 2003, Souled Out Radio was created. First started off as a live mixshow, but after 4 years....is now a full blown radio outlet for local independent artists from the Bay Area and beyond, consisting of shows like Schoolyard Saturdays, Sunday Night Break-Fast, and the Thursday Night Throwdown, that are broadcasted worldwide. Finally in 2006, met up with local Daly City producer; Joe Dukes, and local DJ; The Mighty Delrokz, and created what is now known to the public as; Souled Out Underground. Souled Out Underground is home to some of the freshest independent artists/dj's in the Bay Area (www.souledoutunderground.com). And as of 2008, Rod Roc makes up 1/4 of Bay Area independent hip-hop group; Group Therapy (LMNtal, Random, Audio). Now you can catch Rod Roc rockin' parties around SF and cuttin' it up at your local hip-hop shows. Don't sleep. Support independent art.
Man...wish ya'll went to Reno with us. It was fun! You missed Neil a/k/a Penny King! Ryan gave him $5 to play the Penny Slots...and lemme tell you that Neil made that $5 last for 3 hours. It was amazing! LOL.
