"One Rogan of rock was too powerful, so the guitar gods had to split him in two: The Rogan Brothers take to the tiny music box in Miller's for some outsized rock 'n' roll on Friday night(s). These fellows and their stellar rhythm section put on a great gig at the Noble Savages music fest...; head out a tad later, crack a beer and toast these bros, equal parts John Fogerty and a sleek, spacey Neil Young." C-ville 1/1/08
"This is old-school songwriting in a new package. I hear flashes of Van Morrison and Neil Young, but they dress it up in a different, harder way." Charlie Pastorfield, The Hook 4/12/07
Josh and Eric Rogan played their first notes together in 1996, when they got their first electric instruments on the same day. With Eric on bass and Josh on guitar, the brothers quickly found a common interest. Close friend Andrew Mills joined them on drums, and the group played a few shows before going separate ways during "the college years".
During this time, Josh developed a catalog of original tunes while Eric attended Skidmore College in upstate New York. Eric studied under jazz instructors Chuck D'loria and Chris Brubeck, son of jazz mogul Dave Brubeck. Though the two brothers approach music differently, their dedication made for productive musical reunions.
In 2002, the group reunited as the band "Atlas". This marked the beginning of brothers' career in music. The band found local success and worked with what money they had to record their material.
In 2004, "The Rogan Brothers Band" was born after drummer, Andrew Mills, decided to move out west. The brothers played with many of Charlottesville's all-stars en route to finding their current drummer, Seth Johnston.
Josh and Eric traveled to Nashville in 2006 to record their first official release under their own label, RB Productions. Josh, with the help of Nashville recording artist, Scott Kidd, produced "Hang Tough", the title of their ep/cd which was released that fall.
In 2008, the final member, Betty Jo Dominick, joined the band. She brings a variety of organs, keyboards, and, of course, her stylin' accordian.
The band has performed at venues and events such as: FloydFest 8, The 2008 and 2009 Sturgis Bike Rallies, Charlottesville's Fridays After Five, The Virginia State Fair, Crozet Music Festival, Starr Hill, Satellite Ballroom and their weekly Friday gig at Miller's. Local gigging has also given way to shows in Richmond, Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Staunton, Blacksburg and many other surrounding communities. Look for the band this fall at the Crozet Music Festival and The Scottsville Beer Festival.

Hey there, Here's one from left field... Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat? A while back I came across some very disturbing information, which inspired me to make this video: Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4 Both artistic (ensure you've good enough sound to enjoy the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice. Though the source materials are somewhat aged, the fundamentals remain relevant today. I encourage all to visit the YouTube web page above to learn more (Show your support! Rate!
