All sorts of stuff. Especially stuff with guitars.
Then I've got to mention my friend the composer Ed Hughes and his group, the New Music Players. Ed wrote the music to that trailer for my book on the right there. It's performed by the Bath Camerata and I think it's pretty stunning.
Movies
So many.
Television
Anything where you have to phone in to get people evicted. Oh, that's pretty much all telly nowadays, isn't it.
Books
Well I've written one, Taking Comfort, does that count? But of the others, off the top of my head, God this is hard.... let's start with Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Blindness by Jose Saramago. High John the Conqueror by Jim Younger. Life, A User's Manual by George Perec. Proust. Jimmy Corrigan The Smartest Kid on Earth by Chris Ware. Jean Rhys. George Eliot. Philip K. Dick. Camus. Zola. Homer's Odyssey. Anna Karenina by Tolstoy. The stories of Chekhov. The Man Who Was Thursday by G.K. Chesterton. Under The Volcano by Malcolm Lowry. Thursbitch by Alan Garner. The Murder at the Vicarage, by Agatha Christie. No, seriously. Ask me tomorrow. Oh, and did I forget to mention Kurt Vonnegut?!!!!
About me: I'm a writer. So far I've got one book out. Taking Comfort, published by Macmillan New Writing and available in all good UK bookshops, online and on the high street, now.
It will also be available in the States early 2007, though you can pre-order it on amazon.com now. Go on, go on, go on, you know you want to!
Here's the blurb:
What can you do to feel safe in a dangerous world? When Rob Saunders witnesses a young Japanese student commit suicide, he impulsively takes the folder she dropped as she threw herself under a tube train. He finds himself taking souvenirs from a series of tragic or threatening events, at the same time edging towards an uneasy affair with a work colleague. His behaviour becomes increasingly obsessive. The lines blur between witnessing, seeking out, and initiating tragedy. Things spiral out of control when he discovers a dead body while he's jogging in the woods. Stylistically bold, technically accomplished, this fast-paced pageturner explores the anxieties and survival strategies of a post-9/11 world. See me read from the book.
I got me one of them thare blogtype thingies.

If you haven’t already, please check out my novel, GETTING IN TUNE, and hear the fictional Killjoys at www.rogertrott.com. The story is about an angst-ridden guitarist who drags his band onto the road in search of the transcendent power of Pete Townshend's elusive Universal Chord.
Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:
“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.” —Famous Monsters of Filmland
“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes
'I have accurately recorded the events near the time of my brother's death and what followed; they combine to reveal an intriguing story. Did he die naturally or was he helped in some way? Has a crime or two taken place? Some may think so. Maybe there is a conspiracy, if so how far it may extend is unclear. I am certain that nothing is quite as it should be. Nevertheless this account shows a fascinating view of human nature, society and the establishment in the United Kingdom. The story is so bizarre that it could well be fiction, and that is why I have added "A story of truth or fantasy" to the title. What is frightening is that it is all absolutely true. '

I’m rather excited because I have a small part in an upcoming film based on Steve Aylett’s book LINT. Remember how “Spinal Tap” was a spoof on Heavy Metal bands and “The Ruttles” was a take-off on The Beatles? Now, Science Fiction has LINT!
