Things that make me happy:
(Art in general, but especially paintings by the amazing artist Carl Bloch.)
I love baking and cooking, cake decorating, reading anything I can get my hands on, watching movies, snorkeling and traveling to fun places. I also like bike riding, spending time with family and friends, watching people and playing board games. I know, that sounds really boring, but hey, I enjoy it. One day before I die I hope to make it to all 50 states. I'm also love riding bikes with my husband every evening. I believe in God, heaven, hell, angels, and all sorts of things that can't be explained. *hehe* I also find stories of the paranormal and aliens interesting.
Music
I USED to have a great music selection here until Myspace screwed us by taking away!! Unfortunately, their little music player sucks.
I usually stay away from music radio, because it's all the same....but I love Prince, Keith Urban, Trace Adkins, Rod Stewart and most country music in general unless of course it's about somebody dying or something like that. That's just not for me. *L* I like music that just makes me feel good....like 80s music!
Movies
Movies nowdays are pretty much trash though. Just recycled ideas with so so actors.
Television
I LOVE all of these shows, but the only one I consider don't miss is House MD. The show is tightly written, never fails to make me laugh, and Hugh Laurie is just smoking hot!
Books
Oh Lord, there are WAAAYYY too many to list. Among the authors that I enjoy are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, the Kellermans, Robin Cook, Peter Straub........I'll read pretty much anything but a trashy romance novel. I'll leave those for my sister! HA!
"There is no mistaking a real book when one meets it. It is like falling in love."
Christopher Morley
US author & journalist (1890 - 1957)
My inner child still loves:
Steve Irwin...gotta admire somebody with that kind of passion about anything....and it goes without saying, our fighting men and women! Thank you for sacrificing for us.
"Don't be a fool and die for your country. Let the other sonofabitch die for his."
George S. Patton (1885 - 1945), (attributed)

At heart I guess I'm living in the big city.
I hail from the oldest town in Texas: Nacogdoches. I graduated from a tiny high school with a senior class of 45, so I can tell you all about small town life. I married my best friend in the world, my wonderful husband Roger in November of '98 and became stepmom to 3 wonderful girls: Krista, Kairra and Aubrey.
I love them all to death and would do anything in the world for them. I really believe
As of March I now get to relish my new role as (step) mother-in-law!
No, really I'm absolutely delighted! Overall, I'd say that I'm a happy-go-lucky kind of person. I tend to look for the good in everything. I really believe that everything happens for a reason, even if we don't understand it. I love my family, and I'm happiest when we're all together just relaxing and having a good time. I also believe that:
I'm conservative in values, but not restrictive. I believe that a lot of things in life are black or white, but I can see the gray. I tend to be pretty quiet and reserved until you get to know me, and then I'll let you see my sometimes bizarre and sick sense of humor. I rarely lose my temper because I'm pretty patient, but when I do, look out!
I sometimes think I was born in the wrong decade because at heart I'm just a 1950s housewife!

Who I'd like to meet: It would be amazing to be able to go back in time and walk with Jesus and the disciples. To see the miracles performed in person would be amazing.
Other people that I would love to meet, or would have loved to meet before they passed on are:
I admit it. I'm not ashamed. If I met Donnie Wahlberg or any of the guys I'd die a happy woman. *LOL* You'd have to have been a crazy teenaged fan to understand. I'd also love to meet Colette Peters, Mike McCarey, and pretty much anyone who loves to decorate and bake cakes. I also have to steal my sister's idea and say that it would be cool to meet our maternal grandmother who died shortly after I was born. And of course you! I'd love to meet you!

I think you should go with red on the whole back wall. Leave the vases where they are. Buy some new vases in a contrasting color to go where the red ones used to be. It won't look bad from the front door. Red is bold and you have enough space down from the front door to the back wall that is would just look great imo
I bet you are so exicited about the new house. I was looking at the picture of it.It looks beautiful, If yall need any help with anything please let us know. Will work for drinks. Lol !
well the last one I had was a Minolta which was great. You want on that have an optical zoom. I have the Cannon Rebel which I love...it is easy to use. As you get used to its automatic settings...you can start experimenting with the manual settings...a great camera to learn with...and you might as well spend the extra 200 dollars...that way you will not have to trade up as soon as you would if you started with something smaller....oh...and Nikon is good...but Cannon is the way to go you can't beat a Cannon Rebel, even if you get the cheapest one they have which is about 550.
I do...you should see some of the pix that I take of kids that are old enough to actually listen when I tell them to pose a certain way! :-) I finally got the camera that I wanted for Christmas so that helps!
so true! I know how you are feeling, I had the same feelings when we bought this land. It almost felt like I was in a dream and I didn't want to wake up. We had been looking for so long, I didn't want to loose this.
That is a major steal. Have ya'll sold your house yet? We keep thinking about putting our house on the market, but its just so scary right now. The house is ok, but we want to get out of the city more.
