Over the past few years Rog n Olly have gigged together all over the UK playing songs from Roger's Big Fire and Scarab Moon albums, and expanded the repertoire and the line up as required. Rastco Rasic plays percussion sometimes, Paul Sirett plays guitar from time to time, Phoene Cave adds her wonderful voice as and when, and you might even see Mensch of LaMantra helping out with a variety of multi stringed instuments.
Olly has been a regular on the London Music scene for many years, accompanying jazz performers, recording with acoustic artists, providing the essential low end drive for ceilidhs and irish evenings, and generally being THE double bass player of choice. He had a succesful duo with Melanie Harrold for two albums and more tours than he can remember and played with Ron Kavana, Lol Coxhill, Henry Lowther and Loudon Wainwright amongst others.
Roger grew up in the North East and after two albums and many gigs with Newcastle band Arbre he moved to London. He was a member of Bliss for four years and two european hit singles and also played or recorded with Brian Kennedy, Kiki Dee, David Gray, Joe Strummer along with Christy Moore, Eleanor Shanley and Spikedrivers for whom he also worked as producer. It was the first Spikedrivers album that initiated Rogers musical association with Olly.
