"These three bands inspired me to do what I did. Pete Townsend made me want to play guitar, Phil Lynott made me want to be a frontman and the Sex Pistols made me want to be a songwriter and gave me the attitude"

Sounds Like
The infamous ECT video from 1985.
ECT stood for "Extra Celestial Transmission", and was a bizarre concept of a post-apocalyptic wasteland built in a studio, with 4 live bands playing straight-to-air every week. It was a flop, but has now been realised as one of the pivotal media events of the late NWOBHM era with untold classic performances.
The person who uploaded the video misspelled it :)

OK, this aint Rogue Male, but I felt these deserved inclusion on the page!

Tales of Jim Lyttle's previous bands are covered elsewhere on the internet, (much of it untrue), but in 1984, after several years honing his songs to perfection with "Pretty Boy Floyd And The Gems", "Visa" etc, he finally put together the definitive band: Rogue Male. The lineup at this time was Jim Lyttle on guitar and vocals, Johnny Fraser Binnie on guitar, Philippe Clark on Bass, and Steve Kingsley on Drums.
By the time they released "First Visit", Clark had been replaced by Kevin Collier on bass, and this was the lineup that most people remember, from the futuristic, mean and dirty photo shoots, to the ferocious debut album, and the live shows they played in the USA and here in the UK, notably appearing at Motorhead's 10th birthday party at Hammersmith Odeon, and committing 2 of their best songs to immortality on the now legendary "ECT" television show on Channel 4 in 1985.
Steve Kingsley left shortly afterwards, and was replaced by Danny Fury on drums after the second album "Animal Man" was recorded in 1986. This was a much more diverse album, with great songs, fresh production, and some brilliant lyrics, but it was ruined by unwanted remixing and meddling by the producer, so much that Jim Lyttle asked for his name to be taken OFF the credits... The band played several shows in support of Animal Man, but sadly disbanded in 1987 despite rumours of a third album being planned. Jim returned to Ireland, disillusioned with the scumbags and hangers-on who had ruined the band and systematically ripped them off.
Fast-forward to 2008, and Jim decided enough was enough and it was time to get Rogue Male back in action and show 'em how it's done. As there was no Rogue lineup at the time, Jim enlisted the help of his good friends GMT (Guy-McCoy-Torme) to back him for the session, and sneakily recorded a killer new album with 10 blistering tracks in the latter part of the year.
Jim Lyttle released a taster track on the "Classic Rock" magazine cover CD in February 2009, and within a couple of months, a new line-up of Rogue Male was carefully assembled. The new album "Nail it" was officially released on October 26th 2009, but there are also 100 signed copies in circulation if you are quick!.
The final icing on the cake was the return of the legendary Johnny Fraser Binnie on lead guitar, completing what Jim feels is the strongest lineup yet, some old blood, some new, but ready and waiting to blow the roof off anywhere they play!.
Rogue Male Mk2 are in rehearsal for their live return at the Hard Rock Hell Festival at Prestatyn, UK on December 5th 2009. This will be a long overdue, and very welcome return of a GREAT band.
