Rogue Sound is a Live-Band-Hip-Hop group out of Boulder Colorado. RS produces a positive-minded set with a style as unique as the bands four members. Their influences of Reggae, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Latin music provide a good vibe and atmosphere guaranteed to make the audience shake it’s booty on the dance floor. The combination of both English and Spanish lyrics, along with the smooth blend of various music styles spread the message of unity that the band strives to convey. The Rogue Sound experience is a celebration of the interconnectivity of life through music...
Most of Rogue Sounds members grew up in Boulder, Colorado. Some of their friendships go back to high school and even further. RS's musical roots also run deep and have grown into a vigorous entity. Drummer/MC Matt Smart, Guitarist Mingus Fine, and MC St. Nick have played together in many different bands. Their projects together include Velour during high school, as well as Sleight of Hand, QuinTerra and Satellite in the late 90s. The trio also worked together as Hodge Podge and The Rebel Allies in the 21st Century, and now rock spots as Rogue Sound. Some of the lyrics and tracks laid down on the Hodge Podge album were the early workings of Rogue Sound songs. These tracks sparked the fire to branch out into a new direction that would become the band Rogue Sound in mid 2000.
Rogue Sound has headlined in Colorado since mid 2000 and has played such venues as, The Fox Theatre (18x), The Aggie Theater, The Starlight Theater, The Trilogy Lounge, Round Midnight, The Mishawaka Amphitheatre and many other clubs all over Colorado. Rogue Sound has shared the stage with National Acts such as, Kool Keith, Guru of Gang Starr and Jazzamatazz, The Rebirth Brass Band, The Samples, The DragonFlys Feat. Jimmy Herring, Ordinary-k, The GFE, Rocker-T, and The Pocket. The members of Rogue Sound have studied music as far away as Mexico, Jamaica, and Europe, which also contribute to their many musical styles, and flavors that enthralls each venue they play.
RS proceeds to rock the local Colorado venues and has plans to expand their grounds coast to coast in the years to come. If you have any interest in supporting Rogue Sound or hiring them for your show please do not hesitate to contact them through their website at www.roguesound.com. As Colorado Hip-Hop and Rogue Sound continue to grow the band gives thanks to all that support their local Music communities and culture. U.N.I.T.Y. Dont ask why.
