I've been working real hard to get my soul right, forget a repertoire.
It's amazing what we've become; let me tell you who we are... Listen.
We are the Che's, Malcolm's, Marti's, Assata's and Mommies, Huey's..
Behind bars who have risen, and during times of war taught us all the art of living.
Poets,
And though our poems would have you believe, we are only fatherless bastards
We're the children who've evolved gifted.
But nothing different then a young woman or man on the corner singing
With a big cup of big dreams asking for small change or something similar
I'm thinking it's time we really listen.
Cause on the same blocks where they sell drugs
Amongst rap role models who don't give a fuck...
Yeah, there are young minds that are truly visioned
And even among all the resistance, they are trying to make a difference.
These are my heroes.
I have an amazing group of friends. They are all people with whom you are honored to share your riches with.
They are my wealth.
And till the day I am no longer able to inspire, grow or grow things, I will work towards their upliftment.
Guiding principles:
Always Live Passion,
Always Be Audacity,
Always Seek Love.
The Media Coalition of Artist of Color is a vehicle for cooperative and collaborative efforts by media organizations of color based on their shared mission of empowerment and opportunity in film, television, and new media.
DVRepublic.org exist as a self-validating, self-supporting online community of "citizens" who regularly critique so-called mainstream film and television.
From spitting and singing, staring at the Green Signs and Stars of Jersey Street
To standing on the Green Lines of New York University
Studying, studying leadership, period.
Social entrepreneur, committed to creating economic and social development
Empowering community building programs that can serve as pillars for the processes of innovation and community problem solving.
Someone said he's going to make it.
I grow: and grow things.
And trip often, when walking away from things I would rather be walking towards.
Sugar stolen at a young age. Sweet tooth can make a many dizzy in the mornings.
Worked long to rebuild sugarcane farm. Rebuilt.
Every year, I'm back in business. Success!
At that moment, before books and papers,
just book and that paper,
I realize poetry creates passion; words are the greatest source of inspiration.
Realize mobility is the most important thing, and subsequently that poetry or words take too long to make money with.
No money, no mobility.
Immobilarity.
Still and all, no money in pocket, pocket full of words, fall in love, again and again.
Need to take care of everyone.
Say nothing to no one. People do what they do.
Just stare, and go back to corners to sit on couches with cousins
who sport life size Moet Bottles in front of stores.
Goals change; Midlife crisis.
Work a few years, sweat and tears, watch my brothers, Get Green Light.
Learn how to shift gears and then when the world least expects it- become a broker.
Trade orange juice, cocoa, sugar and coffee and then when the floor becomes a little saturated, invest in Oprah and others. Success!
College;
Take that one-step further; offer all the money have saved and when accepted, find way into and out of
10 year old Marketing and PR consultancy (August Bishop).Young Executive, VP of Marketing and Business
Development.
Get money: Virgin Mobile USA, L'Oreal, adidas, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Turner Ent., Guinness World Records, and the Coca-Cola Company.
Change people and self. Change love, not lose, find new best friends, and some ...
Meet "sometimes" too many times, too many times, that you cannot fall in love with,
too much protocol, but would love to because there is so much love there.
Pocket full of fingers, shells and change; Midlife crisis.
Get job offering of lifetime.
Take it.
Success!
Launched a new agency called ..Parallel MVMT.
Imagine, some of the best minds in business, being some of the best minds period?
Simply, Combat The Mundane.
Also, save, raise and borrow bank to start an .. community.
Grow With Music, I said. They said earBudding.com.
Have great eye for something/someone/sometime, more than simply/semblance/sincerely interesting,
Crave passion over priority. Really.
Wonderful people love Hip-Hop because of this. So we work till no one's awake to Grow Hip-Hop (The Hip-Hop Association)!
Someone said facilitate critical thinking, foster social change and unity, by empowering communities through the use of media, technology, education, and leadership development; while preserving Hip-Hop culture for future generations.
"The World Is Yours" so "It's All About M.E.E." now.
Prefer boxing to hockey,
love good music and rhyme
make some and mine
and don't mind going without sleep for a few days at a time.
Don't discuss music as often as I walk it.
Walk like there was a flute in my shoes
You've gotta/got to/ hear me.
Travel often.
Success!
Oh, I write too.
And love Green Tea and Brownies.
See you next lifetime.
