WELCOME TO THE ROLLERISTA MYSPACE!!
The South Texas Rolleristas, LLC was formed in June of 2006 by 21 women who had it in them to work hard, try something new and offer women from the Rio Grande Valley an opportunity for something completely different. We are the Valley's premier roller derby league and under a grassroots establishment; we are skater owned, and operated. Our league includes 2 teams: THE TRAUMAKAZES and FALLOUT BRIGADE. We play the game of competitive amateur flat track roller derby.
Our mission is to provide recreational entertainment as well as promote athleticism through roller derby. This athleticism includes self discipline, and a sense of well being and character with other women, as well as to provide training roller derby instruction to those who want to try something new. We are dedicated to our local areas and support charities and promote them through our events. We have been active in helping Locks of Love, Food Bank RGV, American Heart Association, Relay for Life and local events such as Operation Noel, and Driscoll Children's Center. We are also active in supporting local bands, and artists. We whole heartedly support other roller derby leagues worldwide and graciously accept advice from our derby big sisters who have given us love and support this past year. We encompass the entire Valley and have our work cut out for us.

Want to Skate? The Valley has 3 Great Skating Rinks! The girls have designated days for you to meet and skate with them in your area of the Valley!
EVERY OTHER SUNDAY ARE (now) LEAGUE PRACTICE DAYS. These days are open to the public. If you want to skate with us - you must be over 18, bring a copy of your driver's licence - and proof of Insurance. If you do not have insurance, you may still skate - you will have to sign a waiver. Also - required gear is needed; knee pads, elbow pads, and helmet.

HELLO MY LADIES!!!! I MISS YOU ALL SOOOO MUCH! Dunno if you've heard about my injury to my knee? I am pretty much out for the season and am really unsure as to when I'd be back on my skates. As you all know that medical expenses are freak'n high when it comes to orthopedic specialists so and not so in an attempt to help me pay for my bills I will be putting together a few fund raisers. Here's where you can help! If any of you gals have any extra helmets you wouldn't mind donating send 'em my way. We will be having local artist paint them and then we will be auctioning them off at a silent auction. We are still in the planning phases of this so I will totally keep yous posted as to when this will be etc... If you know of an artist down your way who wouldn't mind donating his serves and painting a helmet we can do that too. We would need their name so credit can be given etc... Lemme know what you ladies think. Thanks. Much luv!
