1992
Foundation
Scooter Center Cologne was founded in 1992 by well-known scooterists Oliver
Kluger and Ulf Schröder. At that time, the German scooter scene was at
a height and demand for quality scooter parts was growing at a fast pace.
Shops like SCOOTER CENTER, Nordspeed and PSP filled the growing demand and
satisfied the scootering community.
Italian-made Scooters, English-made tuning exhausts and other top quality
gear were fairly uncommon in Germany at that time. Scooter Center initiated
a tiny boom on the German market. In addition, the German magazine “Motoretta”
featured articles on a monthly basis, displaying new custom-made scooters.
Gründung
Das SCOOTER CENTER öffnete
als StartUp in Bergisch Gladbach ( östlich von Köln) seine Pforten.
Der Verkauf erfolgte aus einer Garage raus. Hauptsächlich wurden Roller
und Teile aus Italien importiert und die ersten Kontakte zu Herstellern geknüpft.
1993
Lambretta article Pt. 1
Oliver and Ulf do an article about the Lambretta history for Motoretta magazine.
Thanks to their imports of Lambrettas from sunny Italy the popularity of the

1994
New premises
Up to 1994 the business was driven out of some garages. This year brought
the first real business rooms at the Rosengarten. Tiny shop full of your favourite
scooter parts!
Umzug nach Glessen
Das Geschäft in Bergheim Glessen wurde eröffnet. Hier hatten wir
schon ein echtes Ladenlokal aber schnell mußten schon 3 zusätzliche
Garagen als Lagerplatz angemietet werden, um die Überhänge lagern
zu können. Auf knapp 100qm und 3 Garagen hatte das SCOOTER CENTER bis
zu 10.000 Teile und etwa 30 gebrauchte und neue Roller lieferbar.

Lambretta catalogue I
The first Lambretta catalogue is published. Approx. 70 pages, DIN A4, coloured
cover, content black/white. Despite some helpful technical info there are
a lot of exclusively distributed parts as well as own developments like large
capacity fuel tanks, hydraulic disc brakes, drop bars, legshield toolboxes
and legendary cylinder kits like "Der Bissige" (TS1 240cc) or "The
Killer" (TS1 245cc).
Lambretta Katalog

Der SCOOTER CENTER Lambretta-Spezialkatalog kommt raus. Fast 70 Seiten, Din
A4, Farbcover, Inhalt schwarz/weiss. Neben vielen Techniktipps für den
Lambrettapiloten gab es einige exklusive SCK Produkte und Eigenentwicklungen
wie Doppeltank, aussenliegende Scheibenbremse, DropBars, Beinschild-Fächer
und auch legendäre Zylinder-Kits wie der "Bissige" (TS1 240cc) oder der
"Killer" (TS1 245cc)
1999
New premises, again
With growing demand for quality scooter parts the inventory went beyond the
scope of the old premises of the Scooter Center. At this time there were already
more than 10,000 parts and around 30 used scooters stocked on roughly 1,800
square feet. As a result, Scooter Center moved to its current location which
provided more modern and bigger facilities. On approx. 9,700 square feet,
one can find everything for Lambrettas, Vespas and automatic Scooters.
To celebrate all the efforts that were made to get the business running, an
excessive party took place. One off the guests, ‘Britney’! Legendary!
Later some Late Night show success at Germans TV show at Stefan Raab.
Umzug
Wir ziehen in die neue Halle in Glessen. Auf über 800qm Lager- und Verkaufsfläche
bietet das SCOOTER CENTER alles, was das Blut des Rollerfahrers in
Wallungen bringt. Die neue Location wurde mit einer einzigartigen Party gefeiert.
Alle die dabei waren können sich sicherlich noch an "Britney" erinnern.
Legendär. Super auch die Auftritte danach im Fernsehen u.a. bei Stefan
Raab.

The same year brought the first Scooter Center catalogue for Twist & Go
scooters, DIN A4, nearly 70 pages fully coloured.

With the new catalogue for classic scooters the new milestone is published.
On 251 fully coloured pages there is everything that can be desired for a
Vespa or Lambretta scooter.

Ein weiterer Meilenstein ist der neue Klassikkatalog. Auf 251 farbige Seiten
Vespa- und Lambrettateile mit vielen Tipps. Der Katalog wird zur Bibel für
viele Rollerfahrer.

bits for tuning and customizing.

As Issue number three went to printers it was already outdated, same problem
as with every other print catalogue. An updated version cures some of the

OpenDay I
After a hell lot of not really legal scooter meetings at the SCOOTER CENTER
shop, we made the decision to offer a legal and official meeting to all our
customers. A nice and sunny day of autumn gave the best pre-conditions for
a hell lot of fun for everyone.

Nach dem jahrelang inoffizielle und mehr oder weniger illegale Scootermeetings
am SCOOTER CENTER stattgefunden haben, bieten wir unseren Kunden im Herbst
die Gelegenheit, sich und uns beim ersten SCK Openday offiziell zu treffen.

60 years of Vespa Vespa
We celebrated at the 3rd world Vespa meeting in Munich.
In conjunction with Germany’s leading magazine for classic cars and
motorcycles, Oldtimer-Markt, we helped to organize a photo shooting (Issue
12/2006).

The year SCOOTER CENTER takes over the customer base of Rollershop Express,
the senior of Germany’s mail order and scooter shops.
RSE gibt auf
In diesem Jahr übernimmt das SCOOTER CENTER den Kundenstamm vom
Rollershop Express, der älteste Rollerzubehör-Lieferer in Deutschland
hat sein Geschäft eingestellt.

At the end October the photo shooting for the Oldtimer Markt article to the
Sixties birthday of the Lambretta scooter takes place.
A close collaboration of the Lambretta Club Deutschland (www.lambretta-club-deutschland.de)
brings a nice photo shooting and superlative pictures. Issue 12/07 can be
ordered online at www.oldtimer-markt.de.
The best article for a long time about the Lambretta history, maybe the best
thing in German language since the Motoretta articles (12/93 and 02/94) written
by Oli and Ulf.
60 Jahre Lambretta
Ende Oktober ist das Foto Shooting für den großen Bericht in der
Oldtimer Markt zum 60ten Geburtstag der Lambretta angesagt.
In enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Lambretta Club Deutschland (www.lambretta-club-deutschland.de)
findet das Shooting mit der Oldtimer Markt statt.
