In this piece I would like to take this opportunity to explain the title of this blog (48Bars). Number 1...I have a homie that always ask the "what is the meaning behind this question"? Number 2....there is this blog named "FakeShore Drive" that represent Chicago's Hip Hop. The title of the Blog confused me considering the word "Fake" is usually used when you're dissing someone or something. I reached out to Andrew Barber the Author of FakeShore and he reassured me that the title wasn't a diss...just something different.
Initially I wanted to name the blog 16Bars but the name was taken. After seeking counsel I settled on 48Bars. As I mentioned in previous articles I'm a lover of Hip Hop. Check this out....the structure of a typical rap song is comprised of a verse / hook / verse / hook / verse / hook. A typical verse is usually sixteen bars.....3 X 16=48Bars. It's simple anit it? But quite clever.
Lastly...... I'm a very spiritual person...not religious ....there's a difference ....therefore the title has a spiritual meaning. John 3:16 (chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel of John) is one of the most widely quoted verses from the Christian Bible. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"....3:16 (48).
So there you have it....48Bars.com
