Bio
In the words of the estimable Bennett Hammond: "Rolly ain't ersatz anything. He's the real deal, the gen-you- wine article, the guitar picker's guitar picker. From top-to- bottom, from Django to jingle-jangle he's the Capricornian ideal, the heights and the depths, the guy you need in the band. You want clean? He squeaks with it. You want dirty? He chafes, dribbles and drools. Highsteppin' or clod-hoppin', martini sipping or corn shucking, in a tux or a tee-shirt Rolly Brown is the man for all seasons." ...... Rolly Brown is a lifelong student of the acoustic guitar. Beginning in 1964, he has, over the years, been a Nat'l Fingerpicking Champion, a Philadelphia Music Award Nominee, a sideman, soloist, student, and teacher. Folk music, blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, jazz, and swing have all been his passions. In the past decade, he has attained prominence teaching and performing at guitar camps in the eastern U.S., beginning when Steve Kaufman recognized his teaching skills in 1998. Rolly has released five CD's on his Aussie Dog label, and has also posted a number of instructional films on Youtube, demonstrating his clear, down-to-earth approach to teaching guitar. Rolly is also a licensed acupuncturist with over two decades of experience and a Tai Chi Chuan practitioner and instructor with 35 years of experience. ================================================= Pics: Rol with Lehmann Eclipse, on "UnThump", the BMW R1200ST, with the Australian Kelpies and Jan, and with the legendary Steve Mann! Sounds Like
Davy Grahams' quirky, brilliant fingerstyle instrumental: "Tristano" .. .. .. .. .. After meeting the Rev. Gary Davis in 1969, I became obsessed with his amazing ragtime guitar style, and with the style of Blind Blake. This video goes back to those days of yesteryear for a bit of the ragtime blues style. ..Rolly's Rag...... .. .. .. .. .. =Here's Rolly playing some swing with the great Steve Kaufman!= .. .. .. .. ..

Hi Rolly,
Actually, my head is square. My hair only gives the illusion of my head being round.... - Brian Henke1 year ago
Oh, poor Judith. I just sent her into cyberspace oblivion along with her sisters. Probably all the same middle aged idiot who lives with his Mother and somehow finds making these stupid fake profiles amusing. Unfortunately, my site accepts everybody. I used to have it set so I could actually screne people before accepting them as friends, but I guess Myspace had other plans for my site....
Looking forward to seeing you in Winfield, Winfield, Winfield even though I am actually kind of square.
