The origin of A Roman Holiday can be traced back to 2001 where one night Curtis Grimstead and Jared Sosa met in the common ground of their college dorm. Jared was playing guitar outside and many of the other residents brought down their instruments to join him. Knowing Jared was a musician Curtis asked him to start a band in the summer of 2002. Not knowing how to really play the bass but recently winning one on ebay the two wrote Dodgin Seagulls on a couch on Grove Ave. They were joined by Adam Palmore on the drums and so began Roman Holiday. Finding there were several bands called Roman Holiday, the indefinite article 'a' was added to making A Roman Holiday one of many Roman Holidays. The band played its first show in Adams living room by themselves. Finding there were several bands called Roman Holiday (a New Wave band, an Italian Folk music group and cover band) the indefinite article 'a' was added making A Roman Holiday one of many Roman Holidays. Following this were a plethora of ill fated drunken massacres of shows. Sometimes nothing would be in tune– sometimes it would work out. The band continued to write and record songs and play shows until 2006 when Adam decided to study in China. Jamie Faulstich of the Catalyst stepped in to fill the drum duties and Celie Dailey started playing the horn at shows. The band has played all over the East Coast and as far west as St. Louis. The band decided to call it quits on June 2nd 2007.
