Hailing from Sydney’s outer-west Roma Saanta reinvented themselves in October 2007, completing their line up with Daniel James Cook (drums), Kristen Cobcroft (bass/backing vocals), Elise Cobcroft (guitar) and Rowan Cane (guitar/lead vocals). Immediately the band set to work crafting their debut EP “The Garden,” combining elements of alternative and progressive rock to create an intense and unique sound.
Working in the studio from January to April 2008 the EP finally came to fruition in July 2008. Since then the band have played various venues in and around Sydney including, The Annandale Hotel, The Excelsior and The Bull n Bush. Roma Saanta have also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many amazing bands to the likes of Ash Phoenix, Superb Lyrebird, Bushido, Sydonia, Nucleus and sleepmakeswaves to name a few.
“The Garden”, is a mixture of sound stemming from the musicians’ own musical flavours, which work together to generate a sinister yet strangely melodious, enigmatic and atmospheric experience. Keep your eye out for Roma Saanta in the Alternative music scene ;).
