10.08.2009 - NEW PRE-PRODUCTION TRACK UPLOADED & STUDIO CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
A demo version of the brand new song ’SLOW MOTION CATASTROPHE’ has been added to the MySpace music player for your listening pleasure. This is a sneak preview of what to expect from RMD’s 2010 debut album.
Recorded and mixed along with 4 other new songs last weekend at the bands rehearsal space; Bassist Ben Frost explained how the pre-production demo’s are helping the band.....
”We have kept the recording process as simple and as raw as possible to show the songs in an unrefined state. It’s easy to get distracted by production so we haven’t spent any time altering the tracks sonically. As a band it is important that we write a record that is filled with strong songs that will stand the sands of time. We aren’t interested in producing a bunch of indifferent tracks with a few distinctive moments like a lot of ‘lucky’ bands of today. That’s why we are demoing all material and leaving it unprocessed so we can hear what has to change and what we need to develop when we record them properly. ”Even at this rough stage I’m confident that we have 5 strong songs and am glad that we’ve invested some time on them over the last few days to confirm that. We’ve decided to add ‘Slow Motion Catastrophe’ to the MySpace page because it’s a track that we are totally happy with but it’s the one that will differ the most from the demo stage to the finished Album. It will be a fair bit longer and have a few tricks added here and there.... Although it is a basic recording I think the songs on this demo are a true representation of what people should expect from us and I’m 100% sure that fans of the band will love it!”
This first demo is the start of the pre-production run-up to the studio time for the full length recording in November and the plans to repeat the demo process with the remainder of the songs are already in place. The band are returning to Producer Scott Atkins of GRINDSTONE STUDIOs who recorded the “Defined By Enemies” EP .
Between writing and recording the guys have spent the last few weeks Building a studio from scratch at a new premises for Scott.
“Building the studio is a lot of work but it’s definitely worth it to see the place slowly taking shape. In some ways it feels like the recording process has already begun, it’s as if the building work that we are doing at the moment is the foundation of the album and the pre-production that we are working on are the mechanics. It’s awesome starting from scratch like this, it opens a lot of doors and we can get involved in elements that are usually out of a bands control. I’ve never approached a recording in this way before and we’ll have to wait and see if it pays off ” -Adam F’Sime.
Follow the studios progress here with photos and updates that will follow shortly...... until then enjoy the new track!

Paul has now been discharged from hospital and is able to spend his last stages of recuperation in the comfort of his own home. Although under strict instructions to rest and let the plates and bones in his shoulder and skull settle down he is eager to get back together with the rest of the band for rehearsal.
With every day there is improvement, his drive and determination has been key to his recovery and Paul feels that he will be up to full speed within a matter of weeks. Great News!

On 30.04.09 Paul Fletcher was involved in a road traffic accident and was hit by a van. It is still unknown what actually happened as Paul has no recollection of the accident which left him with a broken collar bone and a fractured skull. He was operated on 05.05.09 and is now recovering from the surgery.
Several metal plates were inserted to the front section of his skull and his eye socket was re-built during the 5 hour operation. 25.04.2009 - PROMOTIONAL FILMING AND A FEW TORTURE ACCIDENTS
The last 12 hours have been spent filming a torture scene for some promotion video footage. Vocalist Adam was tied to a chair and then beaten senseless by Romeo. The Result is a horrific film that maybe used for a few things later this year. Here is a snap shot of the filming to wet your appetite Click here .
It was an interesting day for everyone involved especially Adam who picked up quite a few real injuries for his efforts. He split his lip open, broke his nose, two black eyes and smashed his chin open when he feel forward on to his face while both his hands and feet were tied. 4 Stitches to the face later in Accident and Emergency he shrugged and laughed it off “It feels like the worst kicking that I have ever been given but, everyone has to suffer for their art!” ..

After a long set of dates on the road RMD always go their different ways from the bus. However Will Romain’s journey was a little more eventful than he anticipated. Will fell asleep behind the wheel while driving home and flipped his car and 80 mph. Here’s is a picture of the wreckage Click here
”I opened my eyes to find myself heading for the central barrier so I swerved quickly, the car dug in, found grip on the road and then flipped me over! It was really intense and I was screaming like a baby as all of my drums cases were flying around my head. I then slid for about 50 metres across all 3 lines of the road until I ground to a standstill” Incredibly he escaped the accident with out a scratch on him. “ The Barry White track was still playing on the radio in the background, so it wasn’t all that bad!”
