Welcome to Romo Night, home of alternative, bittersweet electronic music!
Romo Night started in 1996 and is one of norhern europes biggest clubs within it's genre.
Over the years we have had bands like Mesh, Elegant Machinery, The Twins, Covenant, Boytronic, Human League, Second Decay, Client, Rational Youth, Robert Marlow, S.p.o.c.k, Karl Bartos etc. etc.
We are also co-organizors of SAMA, the yearly price-award for alternative music.
In 2003, among 96 clubs, we won the price for best club in Gothenburg.
On our dancefloor you will hear electronic music at it's best, we try to avoid the most classic hits and rather play album-tracks or b-sides. It's a blend of synthpop like Elegant Machinery, Boytronic and Rational Youth, electro like Miss Kittin, Ladytron and Alek Stark, new romantic like Classix Nouveaux, Lustans Lakejer and Visage, ebm like Nitzer Ebb, And One and Front 242, some 80s like Kim Wilde, Alphaville & Trans-X, a small dose of goth like Sisters of Mercy, a small dose of italo like Scotch and of course newer stuff like De/Vision, Mesh and Covenant. No noise, future or crossover.
Rare groups we play? Hard Corps, Stahlnetz, Moderne, Fake, I Start Counting. Classic tunes we play? Living on Video, Sounds Like A Melody, Keep Me Hangin On, Cars, True Faith.
We show wonderful videos at our HUGE videoscreen, most of them very, very rare.
This year we will have three screens at the venue. The Venue takes about 1000 people and is a wonderful place with modern hi-tech and a splendid stage.
The admission this year is SEK80, and is open from 22 to 05. 18 years.

what a night it was!
1200 people came to say goodbye and danced all night long to romonight-classics!
the newest song that was played? Human Leagues All i ever wanted.
the first song? Black Celebration of course.
the last one? A swedish classic from 1983 by a group called Page. the song, Dansande Man [in english, Dancing Man,and the chorus goes like this: The dancing man, dancing his last dance. Perfect ending.
Inbetween that i played songs from Hard Corps, Absolute, Erasure, DM, Ultravox, Visage DAF, Indochine, Classix Nouveaux, Devo, Kraftwerk, Fad Gadget, Shock, Pete Shelley, Boytronic, The Twins etc etc etc.
During the night Anders of Moulin Noir, Alexander Hofman from S.p.o.c.k and Magnus Johansson from Alison did singback from stage during the dj-set as a surprise.
