Ron Bohmer has starred on Broadway and national tour as some of the musical theatre’s most memorable heroes and villains -- the Phantom in The Phantom Of The Opera, Joe Gillis in Sunset Blvd., the swashbuckling hero The Scarlet Pimpernel, Alex in Aspects Of Love, the evil Sir Percival Glyde in The Woman in White, Enjolras in Les Miserables, and Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof. Ron received a Jefferson Award Best Actor nomination for his work in Sunset Blvd., and a National Broadway Theatre Award’s Best Actor nomination for The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Off-Broadway roles include – Sebastian in The Thing About Men, Howard in The Joys of Sex, the title role in The Third Person, the 10th anniversary cast of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and multiple roles in New York’s long-running comedy hit Forbidden Broadway (2005 Drama Desk award). Regional Performances include the title role in Floyd Collins at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Volodya in Bed & Sofa at the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia (best actor nomination – Barrymore Award), the title role in the U.S. premiere of Dracula at North Shore Music Theatre, the title role in Phantom at Salt Lake’s Pioneer Theatre, and Billy in Anything Goes at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.
Television roles – Law & Order SVU, Rescue Me, Ryan’s Hope, One Life to Live, and As The World Turns.
Recordings – 2 solo CD’s, everyman and another life, and the cast recordings of The Thing About Men and Forbidden Broadway-S.V.U.
In concert, Ron has appeared with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, at Radio City Music Hall, Joe’s Pub and at New York City's Town Hall. He performed the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar for a special symphonic stadium concert, which honored and featured its acclaimed lyricist, Sir Tim Rice. Ron also created the role of Thomas Edison in the world premiere of Edison Invents for the Westfield Symphony in New Jersey. Other roles for projects in development include the title role in the musical Death Takes a Holiday by Maury Yeston and Tom Meehan and the role of the Creature in the upcoming Frankenstein. Ron is featured in the Book "Making It on Broadway: Actors' Tales of Climbing to the Top".
Ron is married to actress Sandra Joseph. He is the Father of two daughters, Cassidy and Austin and the owner of two dogs, Murphy and Griffin.
