A SOLID, PROFESSIONAL DRUMMER WHO PLAYS LIVE GIGS AND/OR STUDIO WORK...I'M AVAILABLE AND I'M ITCH'IN TO PLAY!!!!
Thanks for visiting my music web site. Born in Chicago Heights, Ill. I started playing drums at age 7 after my father took me to see Gene Krupa. I got to take my first lessons with Dave Tough (Glenn Miller's drummer for 16 years) til his death. I was 13 when I formed my first band (The Last Word) with friends, Robert Rackelman and Ford Phillips. In 1966 I got to see the Beatles live in Jacksonville , Like I said I got to see them, I couldnot hear them for all the girls screaming. But what a a good show. After that I became one of the lead singers for "Sandpaper Castle". I was with them until I graduated from Satellite High School. After High School, I was Jimi Hendrix's drummer, ( and the Lord used me to bring Jimi to HIM and get him off the herion ), with "The Jimi Hendrix Fusion Band" 1969. Jimi asked me to be his drummer because he wanted to put a group together that would combine Classical, Jazz, Rock and Gospel. He also asked me if I had heard of Bobby Lyle ( Antia Baker and Al Jarreau's Musical Director )? I told Jimi no I had not and he said He was going to use Bobby on this project. Jimi had a dream of touring with a full orchestra, and he had written 16 new songs when he was on tour in Europe with The Experience Band. Jimi and I wrote 2 Gospel songs together that were never recorded. Jimi and I went to sit-in with the Band called Bucchus, one of Tampa's finest Rock Bands with Charlie Souza on bass. For more information about death of Jimi Hendrix, go to (www.cafebeat.org THEN GO TO ARTICLES )
After Jimi's death, I went to Hillsborough Community College and majored in Music. I was also Associate Pastor for Emmanuel Tabernacle, in Tampa, Florida, 1975-1978. During this time I played with The Rick Sloan Singers, Rick is an unbelieveable song writer and Musician. And Magic Mirror . After I left college I toured with Al Wilson ( "Show and Tell" and "The Snake" ) in the band Sting.
I have been the drummer for Bertie Higgins and "The Band of Pirates" for 15 years now. Bertie had 4 ..1 hits, including "Key Largo", "Just Another Day in Paradise", ..Jamaica Me Crazy" and "Casablanca". For more information, go to www.bertiehiggins.com. Then in 2004 Bertie and the Band of Pirates were playing at the Sahara. We played most of the year there and we were returning in January for the 2005 season when I had a Major Stroke and could not walk or talk for about 6 months I thank the LORD for the healing that I have had and still am having. He means everything to me!!! I have also been the drummer for the band Raindriver (with Wally Dentz & Dave Fiester) we opened up for Chuck Barry, REO Speedwagon,Blue Oyster Cult, Spirit, (Smooth Jazz Artist Allon Sams' Band), The Tony Castellino Jr. Trio, Mike McArthur's band, Omni, Theo Valentine, Mike Pachelli, Mad Dancer with Kim Principal (Victoria Principal's sister), Raphsody, Asule, Nova and many other bands. I have played with Phil Keaggy ( Glass Harp ) He opened for the Experience Band with Jimi Hendrix, When Rolling Stone Mag. Interviewed Jimi asking him " How does it feel to be the World's greatest guitar player " Jimi said " I don't know ask Phil Keaggy", Chaz Trippy ( Gergg Almond Band ) the Toler Brothers, Dangerous Dan Toler, and Frankie Toler ( The Gregg Almond Band ) Chris Anderson ( the Outlaws ) Les Dudeck ( Steve Miller Band ). Maynard Ferguson and his band., Dave Brubeck . I have had a blessed life in music and I don't take it lightly. It's a beautiful Life!!! I also became one of Dr. Martin Luther King's best friends. In 1962, I was 11 years old and saved his life from an assassination attempt in Melbourne Fla. We became very good friends after that until his death in 1968. I Lived in Tampa Florida since 1969 then in March 2007 I moved. I went to be with Sue Wood, we were high School buddies for years. We were in choir together, and an exclusive group called the "Ten Tones". So we have known each other for over 40 years. I truly Love this woman!!!!!
I am now living in the Atlanta area and would like to meet and gig with other serious Atlanta Musicians. I play all styles of music. You can contact me here or at rondrummer@yahoo.com.

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
