Ronin Ali is a vocalist/percussionist/composer/producer/arranger/performer...the whole package. He grew up in Essex County, NJ listening to his family's record collections, radio & MTV in its beginning stages. He was a student/member of the world reknowned Newark Boys Chorus School and the Easton Area High School Band, Orchestra & Percussion Ensemble. He was once signed to the now defunct 80 East/Marc-E Records & joined the Air Force shortly after that. While in the Air Force he honed his skills musically & made a name for himself wherever he went (South Carolina, Northern Italy, Kuwait primarily). Ronin went on to make a name for himself in the Philadelphia music scene singing in venues such as the 5 Spot (Black Lily, Side Gig and Soul Power) & more recently Chris' Jazz Cafe. In addition to being a soloist, he sings with various bands (primarily the famed Jellyroll) & is the drummer/vocalist & MD for Rock'n'Roll goddess Ghettosongbird. When Ronin Ali grabs the microphone, he leaves the crowd captivated; but when he adds his percussion (timbales/congas & assorted percussion) he elevates his performance above the average crooners. Songs like THE RIGHT THING TO SAY & BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE leave the crowd in a mellow mood, while songs like WHO IS THAT?! & HUNGRY keep the crowd's feet moving...even if they're sitting down! In addition to great studio recordings, Ronin Ali's stage show is definitely one to experience.
