I've been making my sole living for over 25 years as a singer/musician/songwriter. It has been very good to me and I'm thankful to be able to do what I enjoy most.
I was born in Germany, an Air Force brat, but grew up in Valdosta, Ga. until I finished high school. I went to Belmont University in Nashville and graduated
in 1979 with a BBA in Music Business. I wrote for Gary Paxton (Alley Oop, Monster Mash) and Wax Works while in Nashville and later had a couple of national
releases as writer, one "For Old Times Sake", going to 75 in Billboards Top 100.
I moved to Atlanta leaving Nashville in 1980 and played the Atlanta, St. Simons and Colorado area with a duo called Johnson and Christian which did very well
until we split in 1986.
I moved to Charleston, SC in 86 to play for 3 months at Wild Dunes Resort, which turned into over 14 years as their "featured entertainer"…with benefits! You don’t
find that too often in this business. During this time I was invited to play for "People Magazine" in New York City along with the legendary "Chuck Berry" and
also traveled all over doing convention shows on behalf of the resort. One of the coolest things I did was travel to Antartica on a 150 passenger ship and perform
for the CEO organization for 10 days. I also opened for "Tom Jones".
I now own my own place called BuddyRoe's SHRIMP SHACK (www.myspace.com/buddyroes) located in Mount Pleasant, SC . My wife Kim and I own it. She also performs several songs with me. We have a great
group of people that come in and also some great musicians and writers that sit in with me.
The business has been pretty good to me on this level as I have been able to do this my whole life and make a pretty good living. For that I’m very thankful.
Ronnie, We had a great time playing at your place last week! We appreciate you letting us share the stage! Greg kept us too busy to come back the next night so maybe next time when we're in town we can come by again. Thanks again! Buddy Roes is one rockin' place! Love it! The Redheads Britta and Brooke
Ronnie! I hope you are doing well! It was so much fun seeing you in Charleston in June... When are you going to send that Gracie to Nashville? Take Care! Morgan

I had a GREAT time last night! I'm so glad I got to see you again! And Kim! As always, you were wonderful! Thanks for keeping my Ronnie Johnson CD collection current. I still have the first one and the matching T-shirt! Catch you on the flip side! Love ya bunches!
You know I think you're wonderful (and have since I was knee-high to a grasshopper!) and I can't wait to see you, Kim, Richard, and the club! Won't be long now!
Our daughter has been friends with this man for @ 21 years and has been singing his praises since the first time she got to hear him perform. Please do yourself a favor and check him out if you're ever on the Isle of Palms! We will! And of course our daughter almost ALWAYS goes to see him when she heads that way. And she says his wife Kim is quite the singer herself! Thanks for the add Ronnie! Merry Christmas!
