Rare is the artist who has true street credibility in both worlds, hiphop and punk. However, King truly feels at home in both realms. King says he's looked at as "the bridge to non segregation, because that's what this thing is. It's all about music, it's about giving respect." Clearly, nowadays, producers are the artists. In an age where studio skills are seen by the fans as important as any other part of the creative process, producers like Dr. Dre, Puffy and Jermaine Dupri are as meaningful as any artist out there. Their work as producers is recognized as a key ingredient of the success that is attained by the artist with whom they work.

FAMED POP, HIP-HOP AND MODERN PUNK KEYBOARDIST/PRODUCER RONNIE KING LAUNCHES BLUE LABEL RECORDS WITH VETERAN BAND MANAGER SEAN COUEVAS, PUBLISHER JAY WARNER, AND OMNI ENTERTAINMENT
BIO :
One of the busiest and most requested keyboardists and producers in pop, hip-hop, alternative and modern punk over the past 15 years, Ronnie King is the co-founder of the currently launching L.A. based independent Blue Label Records.
Kings resume runs wildly eclectic, from mainstream pop artists (Mariah Carey and KC & JoJo) to hot pop-thugs (2Pac, Coolio, Snoop Dogg protégés Eastsidaz) and the metal inflected punk of The Offspring. Known for his trademark sound on Analog Mini-Moog, he also toured with Rancid and was a member of L.A. punk supergroup The Joykiller.
"When I was on tour with The Offspring, I spent a lot of time talking business with (singer) Bryan (aka Dexter) Holland, who owns Nitro Records,€? says King. €œI realized that I was giving so much away by finding and producing bands, then letting them go and hit the streets to find their fame and fortune. The idea of running a label was always in the back of my mind, and things came together quickly when I met Sean Couevas. I started producing the band Ten West, which he manages, and we decided to form the label.
Their co-venture, Blue Label Records, launches this fall with Amazing, the first release by Orange County, California pop/rock band Ten West. Their debut will be available on download sites and in stores November 14. The debut single €œAmazing€? ships to Triple AAA radio stations nationwide on October 31.
€œBreaking Ten West is our major focus as we launch the label,€? Couevas says. €œThe key to longterm success will be signing great artists and building a small core of them to give our full attention to. We want to give really good bands a chance to do well on an independent level. The idea is to be a one stop shop for bands and musicians, taking care of everything, from promotion and distribution to music videos, an in-house publishing company, and full scale production services by Ronnie himself.€?
King€™s longtime publisher, Jay Warner, President of National League Music, has signed on to be Blue Label Records€™ resident publishing company. Quarterbacking the distribution, radio promotion and marketing efforts is Omni Entertainment, who set up the distribution deal with Select-O-Hits.
Producer. Writer. Arranger. Performer. Ronnie King has done it all, and with some of the greatest and most respected artists of our time.
In the ever-shifting climate of modern music, only a true chameleon can ride the wave of change and Ronnie King is just that - a music maven who effortlessly moves throughout musics innermost circles with the greatest of ease.
A native of Palm Springs, California, Kings mastery of Jazz and Classical piano solidified the rock on which he now stands. After a move to L.A. in 1991, he partnered with one of the most successful industry leaders of all time, Jerry Heller, who was at the helm of the notoriously famous Ruthless Records and responsible for the driving force behind the largest and most successful rap acts of the era, Easy-E and NWA.
It was through this association that King started his ascent into the ever-growing world of Rap music. "I found my niche in the rap world working with samples" he states, and from there it sky-rocketed A strong understatement, as King went on to work with some of the top names in the Rap/Hip-hop/R&B genres including Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Tyrese, Bizzy Bone (of Bone Thugs and Harmony), the Eastsidaz and K-Ci and JoJo.
Most recently, Kings talents were heard as an integral player on the soundtrack for the Tupac Shakur documentary Resurrection, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2005. He also had the privilege of working closely with the late rapper and poet throughout his career, his stylings can be heard on albums such as Still I Rise, Until The End of Time and Better Dayz.
With an extensive and eclectic history in and out of the studio, King also found himself pulled into the Punk Rock realm. As a live performer, he previously toured the world playing keyboards with noted punk act Rancid and had a recent stint on tour with popular mainstream act, The Offspring. He has also worked in the studio with The Offspring as well as the Distillers, NOFX, Rancid, Pennywise and his own band, The Joykiller, which was signed to Epitaph Records.
While Ronnie has dual citizenship in both of the Punk and Rap nations he is also a respected traveler throughout the musical atlas. 2006 brought a new direction as King headed straight to Texas where he jumped right in and is currently working with local Houston producer Cory Mo (Slim Thug, Bun B). He is also co-writing with Texas Folk/Americana sensation, Glenna Bell while working his way around the burgeoning Houston music scene currently being spotlighted by multi-platinum acts such as Paul Wall, Chamillionaire and Slim Thug.
Ronnie's vibe and character are infectious. His outlook is positive and he radiates that. A true chameleon, his musical diversity transcends the borders and blurs the lines, an attribute that is instantly recognizable to both industry veterans and new artists alike. Look for great things from Ronnie King in the future of modern music.
