HI, Everyone

It's official i have quit VICIOUS RUMORS due to unfair conditions and very shady acts from certain members band ...this may come to no surprise to many of you ....this decision was made during the HOA HEAD BANGERS OPEN AIR 2009

from that the start i feel like i have been treated like a outsider and still owed money from past 2008 shows..but i still always put 110% in VR despite all warnings from many of you who have delt with VR in the past....

WELL YOU WHERE RIGHT ..i guess i found out the hard way ...i am sorry if i let the VR fans down..for leaving the band ..but you have to see from my point of view...when a band has lots of lineup changes and vocalist quiting..they must have had a good reason for leaving.

i will not bash or go in to detail with what those shady acts are.... look everyone who knows me knows that ..i am cool to everyone ..but i just could not deal with ROCKS STARS EGO'S and shy conditions any longer..look when you are faced with big ego's ..you can do one of two things either eat there shit or tell them to fuck off!

with nothing material being written or recorded in over two years...and just milking the tour's on old songs for one person's gain..this was not what i thought it was going to be...well they may come out and say "well he was just a hired gun" but you have to be paid to be called that!

call it what you will (quit, fired ,split ) whatever!.....at the end of the day it was not working out
I will conteniue with BLOOD REDSKIES ...as we gear up for our new album due for march 2010 as well festival dates in the U.S. and Europe

VICIOUS RUMORS Singer Ronnie Stixx Cleared By Doctors To Perform At Headbangers Open Air Posted on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 13:54:25 EST

A representative for VICIOUS RUMORS singer Ronnie Stixx has sent BraveWords.com the following update:

"Ronnie sustained a vocal injury a few week ago while performing with his BLACK SABBATH tribute band MOB RULES as well as preparing for Vicious Rumors appearance at the Headbangers Open Air 2009 festival (taking place from July 23rd to July 25th in Brande, Germany near Hamburg). The doctor said the injury was caused due to over usage of his voice and he was already developing a small throat infection which ultimately caused the injury.

Ronnie had been hard at work preparing for the HOA pre-party and the headlining set for the festival as well as writing for BLOOD RED SKIES (formerly DIVINE RUINS) next CD and performing with his tribute bands which caused the injury but the show must and will go on."

VICIOUS RUMORS / WOLF / SHADOW KEEP / ARCTIC FLAME / COURAGEOUS

I sure wish we could have more one day festivals here in Sweden too. But most of the tries end up in not enough people showing up or not an interesting enough line-up is presented to bother to go there. You know, it can take a good while to get from one side to the other in this long cold country. It was VICIOUS RUMORS that made me go to Holland this time and as always they rocked everyone’s socks off.

To me it’s completely out of mind how VICIOUS RUMORS aren’t bigger than they are today. ’Underrated’ doesn’t describe it one bit. Consistency and harmony though might not be two common words in the VICIOUS RUMORS camp since it more than once has been hard words on forums and news sites from former members of the band. Still, Geoff Thorpe’s persistence is admirable, that he once more managed to put the band together after the ’Warball-tour’’s quite rough ending. I must admit I was quite disappointed finding that out since I ranked "Warball" as one of the absolute best albums of 2006 and the concerts were nothing but killer, all of them. So, could VICIOUS RUMORS live up to their own reputation with this new line up? That Geoff, Larry Howe (drums) and Stephen Goodwin (bass) were going to go was no real surprise. They form a stable ground and they stuck to their standards. One difference this time was that Stephen really took on his position, he’s a super talented musician but the way he acted on stage and with the attitude he was playing there’s no doubt he’s into this to more than 100%. Right beside him new guitar player Kiyoshi Morgan shone. Perhaps his tone is a little bit too aggressive sometimes but I don’t mind at all that he put his own touches to the songs. That always boosts the live feeling, when it’s the same base but a little coloring to make it feel more live. No matter how much I love James Rivera as a singer but there are no doubts that Ronnie Stixx’s vocal range suites VICIOUS RUMORS better. He can do the delicate parts extraordinary and he still manages the heavier tunes from "Warball". With Ronnie in the lineup VICIOUS RUMORS can dig deep into the treasure chest of the back-catalogue and add another 30 minutes to their set. "Six Stepsisters" and "On The Edge" are both super and I truly enjoyed every second of them. But what if "Dust To Dust" or "Worlds And Machines" could pop up on the set list next time, that would be awesome. Of course together with a couple of new tracks because the rumors say that Geoff and his crew have a new album in the making that hopefully will see light of day in a not too distant future. I dare to say that this is the best line up of VICIOUS RUMORS to date, at least since the version with Carl Albert at the microphone. It feels bad to slam the "Warball"-lineup that I’ve praised so many times but the fact is that today’s version of VICIOUS RUMORS pretty much started where the last one ended when it comes to connection, co-operation and overall band feeling. At least from a beholders position but that is what counts when it comes to the whole experience. So it’s going to be really exciting to see where they are at the next tour, how much they’ve grown since it was hard to believe that VICIOUS RUMORS should be back once more, at least as strong as they were but they sure are and I’m absolutely psyched to see what will happen next. So, another night of Metal passed by, way too fast; I guess that’s the way it is when there’s great music on stage and nice people in the crowd. 013 Kline Zaal offered a pleasant atmosphere even if it was really hard to find the way to the ’Bat Cave’ where the merchandise were supposed to be. With some direction from the locals an even smaller club inside the club appeared and I surely hope I’ll get to hang out here more times even if my overall experiences of Tilburg weren’t all good. Who was the best band of the day then? It’s pretty clear that the title should go to VICIOUS RUMORS but not this time. They were great as always, even a little better but that wasn’t such a big surprise after all. The band that stood out, that completely blew me away and managed to convince me with a great margin that they’re great and can blow most every other band of the stage both musically and visually deserves to win, so band of the festival was COURAGEOUS

VICIOUS RUMORS, COURAGEOUS, MYTHOLIC

(8 November 2008)The Rock Temple, Kerkrade, The Netherlands

Review by Mario van Dooren

Mario; why a review of 2 bands that will play your own festival one day later? Well simply because I WANT to and I don't find it fair to judge them on my own festival. Knowing that I was the one that gave new Vicious Rumors singer Ronnie Stixx the advice to apply for the open spot of singer in VR after they fired James Rivera last year; for that reason I was so curious to see them! I also helped the band to book 2 extra shows in Itzehoe (Germany) and this one in Kerkrade on the days before Mario's Metal Meeting 2.

The main reason for driving all the way to Kerkrade was of course seeing VICIOUS RUMORS & hanging out with my friend Ronnie Stixx. I've seen Ronnie in the past with Shadowkeep at the German KIT festival (where they blew away all the other bands) and he also played the first edition of Mario's Metal Meeting last year with his own band Divine Ruins. To me he is one of the best metalsingers around these days. He has a typical voice and can hit the high notes easily (which is very important to me)! The band had a very reasonable sound and played a great set with a leading part for all members! Also the new guitarplayer Kiyoshi Morgan was fitting perfect to the band and his duelling with Geoff Thorpe was amazing! I was also already convinced that Ronnie would sound very Carl Albert- a-like and my expectations became true!! His predecessor James Rivera is also a very good singer but hasn't the wide range of vocal variation that Ronnie has. Especially the older songs sounded fabulous and the crowd was very enthousiastic! Their setlist was one to dream about: "Digital Dictator", "Minute to Kill", "Don't wait for Me", "Soldiers of the Night", "Abandoned", "You only live Twice", " Warball", "Sonic Rebellion", "Mr. Miracle", "On the Edge", "Ship of Fools", "Lady took a Chance", "The Crest", "Six Stepsisters", "Down to the Temple" (dedicated to the venue???) & "Hellraiser". Superb show even if Ronnie has to work a bit more on his stage performance; still he's a killer singer!! Awesome!!

Marios Metal Mania fest 2008-11-09

Venue: 013 (Tilburg - Netherlands) Tourname: MMM Fest 2008

Support: Courageous, Artic Flame, Shadowkeep, Wolf, Vicious rumors On november the 9th it was time for the second edition of Marios Metal Mania fest in 013 Tilburg. The line up was not a real suprise because at MMM we always get real metalbands with an old school vibe. And with Artic Flame, Shadowkeep, Wolf and Vicious Rumors this was an impressive line up.

Last band to take the stage were Vicious Rumors. Last time I saw them they had another lead singer James Rivera but he left the band already. Newcomer was Ronnie Stixx who played MMM last year with Divine Ruins. Now a year later he is the new frontman of Vicious Rumors and this man fits the bill perfectly. Much better than his predecessors because I've seen them in almost every reincarnation but Ronnie is the best one up to now since the late Carl Albert. Great sound, good setlist and this is how a well oiled metal machine must sound. They certainly convinced me without too much trouble. Great headliner and when this band plays in your neighbourhood go and check them out. You won't get disappointed. No way. A big thank you to Mario for his hospitality and we will be there next year.

Review MARIO'S METAL MEETING 2008
METAL TO INFINITY
I missed the First edition of the MMM Festival last year. Not that the bands weren't attractive enough to make this short travel. Anyway; this year I found time to travel to Holland for this little true Metal festival with five bands announced; COURAGEOS (GER), ARCTIC FLAME (USA), SHADOW KEEP (UK), WOLF (SW), VICIOUS RUMORS (USA). Organizer is the ultra friendly Mario from Tilburg. Like me he's a child of the eighties Metal movement. He's as addicted to Metal with the big 'M' as I am and I suppose his connection with it will never disappear. Often we meet at true Metal festivals in Germany or at other gigs in Belgium or Holland and it's always fun seeing him back. I also know he's a major fan of US Metal, often a subject in our chitchats. Be sure we are bonded by Metal forever...
VICIOUS RUMORS is since the very beginning one of my all time favorite bands. They released several superb albums and ''Digital Dictator'' can even be considered a milestone in the history of Heavy Metal. This band also suffered a great loss; Carl Albert died way too early and was one of the best Metal vocalists this globe ever contained. VICIOUS RUMORS' career waned somewhat after his death and it took years for a comeback although the success from before never came back. James Rivera was a good tryout but to be honest James' voice wasn't actually meant to be for VICIOUS RUMORS. Nowadays VICIOUS RUMORS has a new singer, Ronnie Stixx who we know from Divine Ruins and SHADOWKEEP.
..Photobucket No doubts he's a singer extraordinaire and I'm sure he will be the perfect front man for VICIOUS RUMORS in the future. This show was full of classic songs and it was a long time ago I saw VICIOUS RUMORS as good as they were now. Starting with 'Digital Dictator' the crowd was immediately on fire and it was the beginning of a memorable gig. It was a pity the vocals, once more, were under mixed and often it was impossible to hear Stixx' outstanding high pitched voice. On the other hand the guitars and especially the solos had a mind blowing sound. Geoff Thorpe and Kyoshi Morgan represented one after another mind blowing guitar solo and I'm sure that people who are ignorant about this band stayed speechless behind. Not that I think this kind of people were in ''O13'' because VICIOUS RUMORS easily made the crowd sing.
Photobucket What do you expect by playing tracks like 'Abandoned', 'Soldiers Of The Night', 'Lady Took A Chance', 'Ship Of Fools' and 'Don't Wait For Me'... Also a few newer songs blew out of the speakers but the fans also know these lyrics by heart. VICIOUS RUMORS was energetic and dynamic as in the old days. Yes! VICIOUS RUMORS proved to be alive and kicking again. I really can't wait for a new release and I'm pretty sure it will be one in vein of the old ones.

FIREWIND, VICIOUS RUMORS and KIUAS

played in Madrid. Jorge del Amo and Antonio Cerezuela what we have. ..

First came the tour as teloneros of ANGRA, which had to do the voices the multi Henning Basse. Then came after the 2006 Lorca Rock and the trails of Rock last year, and the fact is that it was high time that the Greeks more internationals at least lately given the big step and venture into a tour like this, in the that of the hands of the Finns KIUAS and veterans were VICIOUS RUMORS as special guests. FIREWIND the attraction of the night as the head of the cartel, something that would finally take place.
Good concert in general, with a fairly narrow in September for time served but that in any way to heat a good night's encouraging enough to the few people who had by then (or half room) and make way for some VICIOUS RUMORS , to give more excitement to the evening, they put the bar really high, but that's what we have better Antonio.
Perhaps this was because it was the third visit of the sensational VICIOUS RUMORS to Madrid in a very short time, but unlike in their previous concerts in the capital, and especially in the BEYOND FEAR, this time there was a lot of people in the room to witness the unloading of the Americans, but also could affect the price of entry - time for action. In general there was a lot of people in the room, not something that surprised me, because although they do not know what this is going to FIREWIND in Europe, last Sunday became clear that Spain is not nobody. However, we go with VICIOUS RUMORS which is what concerns us at this time.
The quintet had renewed its formation after the incident with the singer James Rivera a year ago, and since then the group has gained enormously from the two additions. Rivera did not do so badly in the rumors even less, but it was not adapted to the style of the band and his voice is not finished on whether to give all you can. You do not have this problem the new voclist Ronnie Stix (ex-DIVINE Ruins, SHADOWKEEP), a direct heir of the Carl Albert he did a superb performance. The other novelty is the guitarist Kyoshi Morgan, someone who makes us think, after seeing his interpretation, that no one will miss at least Thaen Rassmussen. Morgan is not only a guitarist well above Rassmussen, but also has much more stage presence, he sees more involved in the band, and is coupled to perfection leader Geoff Thorpe, for me the best guitarist of that has accompanied Thorpe to leave since Mark McGee.
Metiéndonos and with the performance itself, you will have to start by saying that he was tremendous, for me the best of times that have operated in Madrid, and without doubt the most sugarcane.
I was surprised to choose a set like this today and not the day I played alongside AGENT STEEL, a band that much more sugarcane FIREWIND, or course, but knowing that the "stars" FIREWIND not being allowed to use the dressing rooms or shower , It may be a little encabronados. That also would explain the smile between teeth Geoff Thorpe when they waved from the stage.
Contrary to usual, "Abandoned" was left in the dark and opened with "Digital Dictator", a classic that launched the public and to the left to avalanche when we were all hot. Not just rest and after a brief greeting, the group lashed with "Minute To Kill," a song that made us go into the dynamics that would lead the concert. After this second delivery, the band had no mercy and lashed a devastating force over the next 45 minutes to bystanders. "Do not Wait For Me" finished spectators eager to lift the best Speed Metal of the galaxy, and now with his audience completely in his pocket, took a breather by playing a surprise "Soldiers Of The Night", a theme hímnico which gave way to his first album, and he left out the usual "Blitz The World." The band decided to give truce to their furious avalanche with the half-time "Ship Of Fools," which was followed by "Down To The Temple", a theme that was introduced as always with the principle of "Lady Took A Chance."
After this interlude, the group returned to raise the tempo with "Mr. Miracle", belonging to his latest work "Warball", and from here the attack was totally front. Another surprise as "The Crest" has turned into a crazed "Step Six Sisters" that returned her to be the recital, and more to conclude with "You Only Live Twice," two cuts from the excellent "Welcome To The Ball" which left us everyone, happy, very happy, but wanting more, much more.
Unfortunately not, although the group was able to touch a theme rather than finished exhausted. The election had been "Hellraiser" homonym of the disc, an item with an introduction spidico acoustics, a direct chorus and an excessive speed that put a metal clasp to a performance short, but very intense and most outstanding. It is unfortunate that a group like this has to be relegated to strip curtains as well below FIREWIND or BEYOND FEAR, it is very sad that all those who idolize "Painkiller" have not repaired in this spectacular combo, a group that in a just world, had taken over from the Heavy Metal in the 90s.
LONG LIFE!

FURYROCKS LIVE REVIEW

Published: 15 november 2008 Mario’s Metal Meeting II – A heaven for every metalhead,

The second edition of Mario’s Metal Meeting (MMMII) will go down as a successful one. The number of visitors has increased and the quality of the bands has also gone up a notch or two. All five bands are firmly set into metal. Varying from old school metal to power to authentic U.S. metal. Mario himself is a real metal lover who has a nose for finding the right sort of bands. That’s why I tell you to check it out yourself next year, because this festival is put together by real metal fans. And it shows, because for only €13,- entrance fee you are served five very strong bands. That sounds like a good deal to me. Let’s see if headliner Vicious Rumors (V.R.) is capable of giving this festival a dignified ending, as it deserves. These metal veterans shoot out really hard and fast with the monster Digital Dictator, followed by other oldies like the classic songs Soldiers Of The Night, Abandoned, Don’t Wait For Me, The Crest and Ship Of Fools. The guys play a lot of heavier stuff, which I think is a good choice, as they are the best ones. Drummer Larry Howe is a remarkable appearance; he rams and thrashes everything in his sight with his rugged drumming style. He’s talking a lot, cracking jokes with everyone. He is obviously enjoying himself. Geoff Thorpe, the Neanderthal Rumors man, founder and the man who is the centre of the band is playing in a very inspired way and regularly fights guitar duels with his colleague Kiyoshi Morgan. For singer Ronnie Stixx this is his second appearance at the MMM festival. He was here last year fronting his former band Divine Ruins. He fits in perfect with V.R. and is a cross between Carl Albert (R.I.P.) and James Rivera. He convinces by approaching the James Rivera screams high on perfect. I remember that he really didn’t impress last year with Divine Ruins. He seems to have undergone a complete metamorphosis. What he did tonight can only be put done as a class act. The band regularly plays songs from the superb Warball album (the latest to date). These are also played heavier than ever and the audience is singing and shouting with full throttle. V.R. is a real metal institute and they prove that tonight. That’s when you realise that after more than 20 years we’re still not rid of them. Thank God for that, and if they continue to blast out like they did tonight I wouldn’t mind if they lasted another 20 years. When they play the extras we get the title track of this tour, Hellraiser. It is a worthy ending of the show and of course of this brilliant festival. I hope it has all been financially viable, so that there w ill be a MMIII next year. Let’s be honest, if you are presented with such good bands for a mere 13 euro’s, it can only be heaven for every metalhead. And is more people start turning up it will be a challenge for the organisers to produce an even better line up. Let’s make a deal: next year we all attend Mario’s Metal Meeting (again).

My Christmas E-Mail for YOU Ronnie :-)

I have a list of people I know, all logged in my computer,
And now at Christmas time I have gone to take a look.
And that is when I realize that these names are a part,
Not of the computer they're stored in, but of my heart.
For each name stands for someone who has crossed my path sometime,
And in that meeting they've become the rhythm in each rhyme.
And while it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim,
I feel that I'm composed of each remembered name.

And while you may not be aware of any special link,
Just meeting you has changed my life, a lot more than you think!
For once I have met somebody, the years cannot erase,
The memory of a pleasant word (or E-mail) or of a friendly face.
So never think my Christmas E-mails are just a mere routine,
Of names upon an address list, forgotten in between.

For when I do a Christmas E-mail that is addressed to you,
It's because you're on the list of people I'm indebted to.
And whether I have known you for many years or few,
In some way you have been a part of shaping things I do.
And now that Christmas has come, I realize anew,
The best gift life can offer is meeting YOU :-)
