As versatile a singer as a songwriter, Ronny Criss is one the most talented new faces to arrive here in Nashville. With a voice that is instantly recognizable, he brings out the heart of every song. His smooth vocals delivery, combined with a natural gift for songwriting, has him poised to make a real statement in the world of music.
In 2008 Ronny's talents caught the ears of three neighborhood boys from Indianapolis and one beautiful singer/songwriter named Sarah Ashley. All of whom jumped on board to bring their musical talents and vocal abilities to the table in order to shine a new light on each and every story Ronny crafts in his songs. Their live shows are a must see, full of energy and honest emotion and they’re packing venues all around Nashville. The word is getting around that the Sons of Indiana are not to be missed!
It all started for Ronny in late 2006 when he moved down to Music City from Chicago and wasted no time making an impact. He immediately began writing and recording his 2007 release Mercy Mechanics, performing throughout the Nashville area, opening for Eric Heatherly and Jimmie Van Zant, and writing with some of the best writers Nashville has to offer. His talent lies in his knack for honest commercial songs and many here in Nashville have already taken notice.
2008 was also a great step forward for Ronny. He landed 3 independent cuts, 2 songs on Dana Romanello’s album “I’ll be Home for You” and “No Matter What I Do” and the song, “Rag Doll” on the band Good Souls 2008 release. He also contributed his song “Rio Grande” to the indie film, “Adrianna’s Thread” which was also released in 2008.
Ronny is now concentrating on recording his next album with the Sons of Indiana. With an extremely strong collection of songs, his next project will prove to be an import record and bound to open many more doors!!
