Hey Ron!!!! The Sea Hags were my fave band when i was in my late teens hanging out at The Mab w/ Billy Jetboy & Sybil. YOu were the best of the SF scene. I wish you could put together a reunion. I'd pay 50 bucks to see that!!!!!!
So I have this crazy memory and I am sure you have no clue who I am, but here is an anecdote about an encounter we had at Safeway on Market and Church in 1993: I was behind you in line, and I noticed your leather jacket was actually MY leather* that I had for 12 years until it disappeared. I knew this because of the markings around the epaulets (gold leftover dye and remnants of things once glued there, and the sleeves were too short on you. I said "Hey that's my jacket! I was wondering what happened to it", and you replied in a happy tone "Yeah, Matt gave it to me for my birthday" You were so nice and happy about it that I just let it go. Matt He actually stole a few valuables from me after I gave him a place to crash on occasion. He said "It's your own fault for being stupid enough to let me in", but I couldn't help but like the fucker. Ah, the good old speed years...I'm glad I've survived them. It's nice to hear The Seahags again. * A Perfecto by Shott
CAMPAIGN FOR CARE honored the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today by distributing 125 hand-tied fleece blankets and 140 rain ponchos to the homeless people sleeping on the streets of Skid Row in Los Angeles. We had an outstanding team of 39 volunteers, 25 of them children. Many of the kids had made the blankets that they distributed. Landell Elementary School generously donated the rain ponchos. We began at The Fred Jordan Mission on 5th and Towne, and walked to The Midnight Mission on 6th and San Pedro, handing them out along the way. It was an inspiration to see the children making a positive impact in the world community by reaching out with care and compassion for those less fortunate. Thank you to each of the volunteers, those who donated the money to buy the fleece, those who made the blankets, and those who helped to hand them out. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, and many are warmer and drier tonight as a direct result of your kindness. With admiration and gratitude, Stacy Tuttle CAMPAIGN FOR CARE
