I used to watch a lot of Westerns back when I was a lad, when TV was in its infancy, my mom welcomed the break too I'm sure, and thus was born my dream to be a singing cowboy. Riding in the saddle strumming a guitar, that's what I was thinking as my 10 year old self trudged a mile to Mitchell's Music Store, hauling that big old rented guitar, passing by the ball fields and what was I thinking anyway, I was going to play for the Cleveland Indians one day.
It wasn't until I went to college that I picked up a guitar again and jammed with all the dorm guys, singing along. After a few years I decided to try writing some songs "Hey, how hard can it be?" and 3 or 4 decades later here is where I am. Strumming a guitar in the old wild west.
