A new life has been given us or, if you prefer, "a design for living" that really works. The distinguished American psychologist, William James, in his book "Varieties of Religious Experience," indicates a multitude of ways in which men have discovered God. We have no desire to convince anyone that there is only one way by which faith can be acquired. If what we have learned and felt and seen means anything at all, it means that all of us, whatever our race, creed, or color are the children of a living Creator with whom we may form a relationship upon simple and understandable terms as soon as we are willing and honest enough to try. Those having religious affiliations will find here nothing disturbing to their beliefs or ceremonies. There is no friction among us over such issues.
We think it no concern of ours what religious bodies our members identify themselves with as individuals. This should be an entirely personal affair which each one decides for himself in the light of past associations, or his present choice. Not all of us join religious bodies, but most of us favor such memberships.
God, grant me the serinity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Just for today.
About me: Obviously, the theme of this page was politically motivated when I started it. Things have changed in my life and my focus has been altered.
My hope in having this updated MySpace is that a person struggling with alcoholism and/or drug addiction will find something on this page that offers some kind of strength and hope to overcome that desire, urge, want or whatever your situation may be. I am new to recovery, my clean and sober date is 12/08/08. Trying to give back what has been freely given to me.... Peace to you and all those who stumble upon this page. Just saw hope when I was rescued, and want to find out more about him. Thank him one day. Silly huh? Well, I was at such a low point. And I went to the bridge near grandview, to just end it all. I was going to have a kid, and what did I know about having a kid. Had no one, not even myself. And his voice just made me freeze. Like I was the only one there in the world. And just being in his presence, I felt larger than myself and yet so small, if that makes any sense. I know I would be dead if he hadn'tstopped me from jumping. And as I dug and dug, I began to see more and more of these good samaritan reports. Thus, this site. So if ya could, please leave a comment on my blog, :)
Bear stop is gorgeous! We have been looking into places to run away to to get married can you guys give us any info on getting married in that area? We are from PA so even info as to where to get more info would be helpful. We would need to know about getting a licenses suggestions on who might be able to marry us ect. Any help or suggestions would be wonderful. My best friend lives in Springfield KY we will have to catch a meeting down your way when we come next I'll let you know. Just wanted to tell you thank you for your add, also I love Father Martin. Have not had is tapes since 1984. When I gave them to a gal I I was working with. Unfortunatly she got drunk and moved and took them with her. I am so glad you have them on your site.. I sobered up with him many years ago.
