Ron Placone is a stand-up comedian and writer living in Seattle, WA. Prior to getting his feet wet in comedy Ron was a musician and played in several punk bands over the years in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. The days in the band ended when Ron went away for college at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. While in college Ron developed his own act consisting of songs, jokes, and story-telling and would go to any stage that would have him. He played primarily coffee houses, basements, and underground video stores to scarce amounts of people. In the meantime, he published his first book, "25 K Later," a short-story collection Ron wrote in his mid-to-late teens. In 2006, Ron started his own podcast show, "The Bradley Panic Podcast," from a youth-hostel in Nashville, TN, which is where he was living at the time. The show gave Ron an opportunity to further develop his brand of political and social humor, and captivating stories and discourse. Ron still uses the show to make some of his live shows available for download. Later in 2006, Ron decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy. Ron Placone's all-inclusive comedy covers a wide spectrum of topics from everyday life, relationships, and music, to the hard-biting topics of politics, social issues, and religion. Yet, despite his sarcastic whit and blatant cynicism, deep down there's a passionate and undying optimist calling for just a little more peace, love and understanding. Currently, Ron performs regularly in Seattle, WA and surrounding areas, he also plans to release his first novel, "Hostel Drifting," in 2008.
"Ron Placone is a bright, daring, dedicated, and, most of all, funny
young comic. It was a pleasure working with him and I hope to do so
again soon. He's crafting a unique and powerful comedy voice, and is
destined for great things. Him be making ha ha good." - Jeff Kreisler (InDecision 2008, Comedy Central, Comedy Against Evil Political Comedy Troop)
"Ron Placone's comedy pushes the envelope without losing the general populace. His cutting, dry humor will drive you into hysterical laughter while giving you something to think about."
- Anthony Rankin, national recording artist and friend
"Dude, you have to be the only comedian to ever make a Don Delillo reference!"-Jake Merriman, fellow Seattle jokester
High Soundz is up and running in Seattle! High Soundz Magazine is a free music industry resource guide currently at over 100 locations in Seattle (see list at www. highsoundz. net). But, you can save paper and get a digital copy (Web Edition) right now.
Yeah, dude. Been out here almost two months and I love it.
Living and working downtown as a server and started my own web development business, so all is well for me.
Overall, I feel infinite. First time in forever that I have zero money issues, time to read/play music, and just meet new people.
I still wanna come visit sometime and now that I am bankin', it would be way more feasible.
Take care, Mr. Panic/Placone. =)
p.s. Ohio's marijuana laws are incredible compared to Indiana's, so another "Perk". Sorry for the Chbosky references, I've been reading Charlie's diary again.
Thanks for the add. Demand “Battle In Seattle”, a film about the 1999 WTO convention starring Andre 3000, Charlize Theron, Ray Liota, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Rodriguez and Channing Tatum, to be shown in your town! Click for more info:
I hope soon! Eric is moving to Fort Wayne now (finally he has found a job..yay!), so I guess it will take some time to save enough money to come to Seattle. Are you planning going to Midwest this summer?
Dear Ron Placone: OF COURSE, World Peace Before 2021 will be YourFriend. Thank you for asking. My eight-year-old-peace-activist son Axil’s quest for World Peace Before 2021 is gaining momentum! I'm so proud of him. Please embrace him AND his song "World Peace Before 2021" which he sings beautifully. His performance can be seen on MySpace, his webpage www. worldpeacebefore2021. com and/or YouTube (by searching his name Axil Kollist.) It is my intention to post a new video of him singing his song every few months so people can watch his talent grow as impressively as the momentum for his quest! I'm sharing two photos with you. The first is of my son distributing his free world peace bumperstickers and the second photo is of him singing his song “World Peace Before 2021” at Maui's Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Day Festivities in January 08. Very best regards, Axil Kollist’s mom
Thanks Ron for making the scene - hope you dig it as much as we dug your recording - listened to the whole thing this morning instead of work - you would have approved being a team player and all.

MPP is the largest marijuana policy reform organization in the United States. Founded in 1995, MPP works to minimize the harm associated with marijuana -- both the consumption of marijuana and the laws that are intended to prohibit its use. MPP believes that the greatest harm associated with marijuana is prison. To this end, MPP focuses on removing criminal penalties for marijuana use, with a particular emphasis on making marijuana medically available to seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors.
MPP doesn't encourage marijuana use. But our failed marijuana laws cost taxpayers billions of dollars a year, keep police from focusing on real crimes, and fail to keep marijuana away from kids. We believe it's time for a new approach-- taxation and regulation.
Sincerely,
The Marijuana Policy Project
