A 25 year veteran of the Central New York music scene, Ron Spencer brought his four piece group to national attention with their CD, Ron Spencer & The Nite Crew - Burnin' Desire. During Ron's performing career he has shared the stage with many blues greats such as Charlie Musselwhite, John Copeland, Kenny Neal, Son Seals, and Little Charlie and The Nite Cats.
A regular at the "world famous" Dinosaur B.B.Q., has found him jamming with many of the national recording acts there including Anson Fundergurgh, Bob Margolin, Coco Montoya's band, Doug Jay,Teddy Morgan. Highlights of his career include touring with Chicago blues diva and Delmark recording artist, Big Time Sarah, at the New York State Blues Fest, trading licks on stage with guitar great Duke Robillard, and playing in the house band for the 1st Annual Harmonica Blow-Off.
In 2000 Ron formed the seven piece R&B revue, JUMPSTART, featuring honkin‘ saxs, poundin’ keyboards and a 350 pound blues shoutin’ frontman. Fusing West Coast & Kansas City jump blues, r&b and New Orleans style rock n' roll, Jumpstart was a swing dancers delight!
This two time SAMMY Award winning band has been a crowd pleaser and featured act for six years running at The NYS Rhythm & Blues Festival & The Alex Bay Blues Fest and has toured up and down the East Coast. In 2002 Ron co-produced and released a CD on Blue Wave Records with rock & roll and r&b legend, Jimmy Cavallo. The CD, "Jimmy Cavallo - The Houserocker with Ron Spencer & Jumpstart" was nominated in 2003 for the ultimate recognition in the blues field...a W.C. Handy Award! In their most recent Blue Wave collaboration with Jimmy Cavallo, “You’d Better Believe It!” Blues Revue proclaims Jumpstart “the real deal!“ Ron and Jimmy performed together to sold out shows at England's premier r&b festivals as well as the largest festival of it‘s kind in the world, Wisconsin‘s Rockin’ ‘50‘s Fest. In reviewing Jumpstart’s 2005 Blue Wave release, “Livin’ Low”, Blues Revue warns their readers, Jumpstarts music “will make you pull the rugs off your floor so your guests can rock!”
Ron's current musical venture, the Ron Spencer Band, finds him streamlining to a four piece format, but broadening stylistically. Their new CD, Roller Coaster Blues, on Real Gone Records features all original songs in a tapestry of American roots music, Blues, R&B, Rockabilly and Rock n" Roll !

Ronny Baby, what's shakin ??? Thanks for the happy b-day. I'll try to get to the Mill on Sunday. We have practice on Thursday (my actual b-day) so I'm sure I won't make Coopers. We're at the Mill on the 18th so let me flip the invite. I'd say come to Bear Bones on the 30th for our gig there but I guess they've shut down and canceled all gigs. Another one bites the dust..... Damn
