    Two interesting things to note:

    1. Current President's plans for high speed rail includes a Midwest line, linking Minneapolis, Detroit, Toledo, Chicago, Cleveland, etc...

    2. Interesting now that your old hometown boys (Red Wings) are facing your new home's team (Hawks). Tell me you're still down with the winged wheel!! There is no way you can cheer for the Blackhawks after that 3 overtime game against Ed Blelfour in 1995 playoffs.

    Yeah dude, a lot of the advantage comes from their infrastructure versus ours though. Nice to have a president who knows what the hell technology is. We will never catch up with Western Europe or Japan when it comes to transportation, esp. high speed rail, just because of the size of our country (besides, high speed rail to some places just seems like a waste, won't name any names...I'm just sayin...down south...) Internet speed, same problem, too much space, though our cities should be a lot better. Why the hell it costs so much for some FIOS? Capitalist greed...
    Gadgets wise, I think the US will probably not fall further than 5 years behind, our people buy everything.
