Influences
A diverse range of musical influences can be found in Room 101's music. From The Allmans and The Grateful Dead, to Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Cream, Room 101 are not ashamed of their inspirations, embracing them in every way.
Sounds Like
Ashlee Simpson in a three-way while high on crystal meth.
Emerging from the ashes and influences of thousands of bands gone by, Room 101 formed to satisty the unending musical needs of its members. Combining the dual guitar approach of The Allman Brothers, with the hard rock ferocity of Gov't Mule, while maintaining the pop sensibilities of The Black Crowes, New York City's Room 101 infuse their music with hints of Floydian psychedelia and all the while fail to sound half as good as any of the afforementioned bands. Imagine that? But the goal isnt to sound half as good as those other bands. Room 101 was not established to please people by playing what band members think audiences want to hear. The band takes the stage each and every time only for themselves and only for each other. That simultaneous blend of selflessness, and selfishness, is what makes a Room 101 concert and their music so intriguing. One moment hard rock, one moment southern blues-rock, and the next improvisational psychedelia, the band's seamless blending of a variety of musical styles is made possible by each member's extensive skills on their respective instruments, fronted by a singer with a powerful and captivating voice. Room 101 is coming, enjoy the show.
