Room 101 seamlessly blends elements of rock, classical, and industrial music to create a dynamic sound which ranges from dark and aggressive to reflective and composed.
At the end of the 20th century, technology, while aiding in humankind’s comfort, sapped élan vital. Room 101 uses all technology available to them to shock the listener out of complacency and open their pineal glands, thus realigning their soul with their bodies. They create a numinous mysterium tremendum experience through a Buberian I-Thou relation with their audience, and agree with Antonin Artuad that performance should be like a man tied to a burning stake, signaling through the flames.
In other words, they are a unique band with a huge sound and an engaging live show, and they read too much.
I hope you all felt guilty at practice yesterday! Haha, jk. But you ALL do need to check out Polyfuse - he's awesome industrial electronic stuff who played last night too. I cannot wait for Viewer Discretion's debut! I'm psyched!
Guys!!! My good friend plays guitar for Abandon the Radio so I went to watch them play tonight and totally saw you guys! I didn't even recognize you at first! I really wanted to say hi, but I had to leave to study:( I hope I catch you guys again soon. Hope you're doing well. <3
You guys just keep getting better and better and better every single time I catch a show. Aaah, why don't I have the track titles memorized yet!? I've heard them all so often. But New Wasteland was fantastic. The last song was epic. 100% solid performance the whole way through. Perfect atmopsheres from the Fantom while folks were tuning. And I seriously love that one track with Krystal's vocals remind me of Abby Travis off KMFDM's Symbols album. So. Good.
Thanks a million times over for letting me play perform alongside you guys. What a rush!
I have to say though, the only disappointment - I didn't get a Steely Dan shirt in the end.
Ha I am at the end of 1984, and I just got done reading about Winston getting tortured with the cage of rats on his head. I mean JUST a second ago, wow this is sort of creepy = P
God damn it, I can't make it up this week. I'm stuck with dire responsibilities. I won't be able to leave til Monday, August 18th. Break a fucking leg and let me know how the 'electro-madness' show turns out! I want a piece of the action! LoL!
