A little about ROOM 13
ROOM 13 was formed in September of 2001. With a high energy excited show and fun attitude, ROOM 13 has made a name for itself playing covers in some of the top eastside clubs.
Performing new covers by bands like Simple Plan, Finger Eleven, Green Day, White Stripes, Cold,Three Days Grace, Jimmy Eat Worl...... staying on top of what is new and danceable . We learn it as soon as it becomes hot airplay. We pride ourselves on sticking true to the songs we play. Performing the song as close to the original as possible
BOBBY NELSON - Vocals
Bobby was born in Detroit . He grew up most of his life in the suburbs just outside of Detroit and has been surrounded by music his entire life. Learning a lot from his Father, whom was the lead singer of a band called Night Out. Trying to find his own sound, at the age of 12 Bobby formed a garage band with some buddies. Later Bobby fronted a few local bands like mind set and tear. And now he is having a blast being the new lead vocalist for ROOM 13. Bobby loves spending time with his kids and family. enjoys the company of good friends and good beer. He loves to entertain others and have a good time. His hobbies are working out, playing pool, bowling, and playing paintball.
SHAWN KUEFLER - Drums & Vocals
Shawn began playing drums at the age
of 15. He started playing in a few local heavy
metal bands and original projects.
Later, Shawn took his playing to the
cover band scene and gigged with bands
like the Eldorados, The Chosen Few,
Chili Dogz and more recently DeadBob.
Now he is very happy to be joined
up with some of Michigan best musicians
in a band called ROOM 13.
When he is not on stage, Shawn is a
Union electrician with Local 58,
which explains his meticulous handling
of the bands light show and special effects.
BRANDON GILLIHAN - Guitar, Keys & Vocals
Brandon started out in bars at 16. 16-18
He played in many different local Illinois
bands. He soon moved to Arkansas to
his Grandparents house.That is where
he met the band Jester. Jester warmed
up for many national acts such as Nazareth,
blue oyster cult, Extreme etc.
After changing the name to Clowndog Riot.
they toured the states and even had the
opportunity to experience some overseas
gigs.That came to an end and then Brandon
went back home to Illinois where He Founded
a band called Yank! . The band Yank moved
to Washington and played the Seattle scene
for a while , but the drummer couldn't handle
being away from home. which lead to the
break up of the band.Then Brandon went
solo acoustic for 2 years. In that 2 years he
has written many albums and released 2.
Doing studio work and every thing to keep
the dream alive, He moved to Detroit. He
played acoustic in a few local bars for
6months. Now Happy to be a part of
Room 13, Brandon is now teaming up with
the band to make the first Room13 cd!
Hey Friends. It's Bobby From Room 13. Just wanted to remind everyone about a party we're havin on Wednesday, December 16th at the New Way bar in Ferndale on Woodward Avenue between 9 and 10 mile. We go on at Ten O'clock. Everyone gets laid. Also, Thursday the 17th we are playing at Busters Lounge on Van Dyke and 23 mile rd. in sterling hieghts. It's an open mic Jammy Jam. So Everyone who is musically inclined or you just wanna give it try. Come out and party with us. Beginners and Veterans welcome. definitely impressed with you guys last night at busters. its great to see a cover band bringing the whole package:great choice of tunes, musicianship and light and stage show! i brought friends from the other side of the state and they were fully impressed and had a blast. be seeing you guys again soon..ken
