I've finally uploaded some new songs for your listening pleasure. I've kept "Indian Summer" up, since that seems to be popular with the kids.
It appears that MySpace might recompress (?) these MP3s as the uploads here have a lot more noise in them than the ones on my harddrive. If you desire less noisy versions of these songs, PM me, and I'll send you the original MP3s.
Most of what you see here was recorded on a 4-track in Portland, OR.
Oh... actually, some of the NEWER batch of stuff was recorded into an audiomedia 3 card! Most recently I've started recording into an M-box. Ah, the onslaught of the future.
You can hear my most recent stuff here:
My Opentape
The song "Indian Summer" is a cover of a song written by the dreamy Calvin Johnson
The song "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" is a cover of a jazz standard with lyrics by Bob Russel and music by Duke Ellington. Here's a good version by The Inkspots.
The song "Tabula Rasa" was recorded quite a while ago into a computer that boasted a particularly boisterous fan. Perhaps my biggest fan.
The song "Pink Slip" aka "Diminishing Returns" was recorded by the now-defunct recording experiment EggCartonZoo. It is a wacky wacky song, but I love it. That's me on the bajillions of vocal tracks, Andy Z on the piano, Timothy X on banjo, and me again pounding on the water in my bathtub at the old "Maison d'Etre" at 1515 44th. That was a great house.
I'm giving the neglected Friendface page some love and uploading my most recent cover of Rockwell's "I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me." I covered this song for the lovely and talented Glenn Case as part of Songfight's annual Gift of Music.
Please don't confuse me with the ORIGINAL Anti-M band, who has been nice enough to allow me as an interloper to keep my moniker. If you're looking for the original Anti-M band, you can find their webpage here:www.anti-m.com
or here:www.myspace.com/antimband
i'm also fond of tabla rasa. is it of your pen or merely one of your choosing?
And Pink slip seems appropriate for these days. I like it. It sticks in my brain. Explain the water? I love water noises. But this one, though rythmic, made me think of a floppity fish gasping for air.
Thanks for the warm welcome back. I like how you gave props to the other Anti M's. We'd consider doing that too, if those other Hell Yeahs weren't such jerks! Let's hope this time it lasts! :)
