Room 237 is the brainchild of three friends who have so far evaded warrants of musical mundanity. Our preferred musical tastes may differ but are brought together by a love of music that has or is pushing boundaries. The main styles that we are collectively concerned with are Leftfield indie, electronica, noise, ambient, experimental.

The Gigs are put on by Tom... The main ethos, apart from bringing people we love to Leeds , involved is to provide non-profit gigs that showcase impressive local, national and acts from abroad. Our main aim is to see good bands and complement the amazing diy and underground events put on by the promoters in Leeds that we respect.

The electronica side of things are run by Marcus who has been playing out drum & bass, electronica, ambient and a hint of (good) hip hop music for pretty much his whole life. With the underlying reason to promote music to make you think he aims to select acts that highlight the importance of forward thinking audio that tests the audience from all musical backgrounds. He is also looking to introduce his own live bendiness throughout the country in the coming months and to continue supporting his
passion for bringing together people that follow music for the right reasons.

Opening with the awesome bass pressure of the minimalist masterpiece ‘Deadstep’ and ending with the sublime underwater claustrophobia of ‘Unnamed Methane Sea’ this release is set to cement Micoland’s reputation as one of the people responsible for truly moving the dubstep blueprint into exiting new aural landscapes.
DEAD CHANNEL on Micoland's All Loop Traffic
"At moments I'm reminded of Jeff Mills in his more chilled outings, perhaps messing around with Luke Vibert. At others there's the spirit of Tobias Schmidt in his Le Chimp Atomique phase. Mostly, though, I'm just impressed by how original, moving and cool the whole caboodle turns out to be."
Andrez Bergen on "All Loop Traffic" (Impact, Vice)

Currently Sweden's hottest export, THOSE DANCING DAYS combine "Sweet as apple-pie pop" with a devilishly sassy Northern Soul and it's this unique combination that has the got the whole of the UK falling over itself and for good reason too!
The subtle dynamics in their songwriting of JOHN and JEHN and the balance between chaos and beauty and the mastery of heartbreaking melodies Expect beautifully skewed hymns in the key of Serge Gainsbourg. http://www. myspace. com/johnjehn
Wakefield's THE RESEARCH are makers of fun, but also write songs that are like punches in the stomach that knock the wind out of you but afterwards you agree that you feel much better for it. www. myspace. com/theresearch
