Room for Type is the latest music project by Ron Cardazone. Currently solo acoustic but leaving room for growth, it is aptly named and plays off the other side of Ron’s life (graphic design).
Energy, power and emotion is embedded into every Room for Type performance. Not the run in the mill singer-songwriter, you’ll never see Ron sitting on the job. Strong rhythms and a great delivery of compelling dynamics laid over running bass lines and riffs create a sound that seems to be more that just a single guitar. He has strong set of original music and adds a creatively re-crafted cover tune or two into the mix that makes his live performances a memorable show to see.
A Bit Of History:
The Village, New York City, 1989. Open Mic Nights at the Speakeasy on Mac Dougal St. Birth Place of Dylan, the Birds and many of the greats that came out of the late 60’s. Playing solo acoustic, getting used to the stage, crafting the songs, eventually playing gigs.
About a year later, putting together a band “Sic Vita” and creating a new sound of acoustic rhythms with electric leads in a heavy alternative format. Yes, this was a new sound in 1990, followed shortly after by MTV unplugged and all the bands with this formula that came after. Gigs at CBGB’s, The Bitter End and various dives in New Jersey. We were ahead of our time - too bad it didn’t last.
Mid 90’s, another attempt with a new line up, more for the fun than the fame this time. Then life happened.
Here I am, ten years later, lovin’ it all over again.
