About me: The Roosterbowl tradition started when two close friends, over several beers on a Sunday afternoon, started making bold predictions for an upcoming game
between Texas Tech and Texas A&M. Blake stood firm for his Red Raiders, and Joe held the line for his beloved Aggies. Soon this alcohol soaked posturing transformed into a commitment to begin traveling together to witness each year's contest in person. All they needed was a trophy....a talisman that the winner could possess to savor his team's victory and remind him of his bragging rights for the next 12 months. Blake stumbled across the perfect trophy: a wooden rooster which had been collecting dust in his attic.
From this, the Roosterbowl tradition was born. After missing the 1999 game, Joe and Blake have weathered much adversity to make the trip every year except 2007. As a part of the post-game celebration, the loser must record the score on the back of the Rooster, and present Him to the winner, to cherish for the next year.
