After a busy year and a half of traveling, performing, recording, and writing, Roots, Rhythm, & Dub's first album, B Side has been released through iTunes and AmazonMP3 under our new record label New Vintage.

ABOUT B SIDE

Back around 1970, Reggae-Dub had just come on the scene. Reggae-Dub was a remixed song that kept most of the vocals out of the mix and showcased the production and musician skills of the song.These "dubs" were released on b sides of 45 rpm records, and the music became huge in a time of groundbreaking Roots-Reggae.

Around the same time, legendary musicians such as Miles Davis, Carlos Santana, and Herbie Hancock were delving into Fusion-Jazz. Jazz had gone more electric, and each musician blended their own style into the jam. While keeping jazz improvasation principles, Fusion-Jazz became a legendary new form of music that was also able to showcase the real instrumental aspects to music.

Here we present our own form of Fusion music, with respects to the music of the past and our eyes on the future. Here we present B Side.

ABOUT THE BAND

Roots, Rhythm, & Dub is a reggae/dub/fusion band from southern and central Maine that draws heavily from their influences. Those influences include reggae, jazz, fusion, Latin rock, blues, r & b, folk, and rock. The band was started by Kevin Kareckas and Josh Routhier-Fenton of South Berwick, Maine in 2006. The band has become under the direction of Routhier-Fenton and new member Josh Hunnefeld who will both feature an all original album "B Side" in Summer 2010.

A band of different cultures (think Mahavishnu Orchestra), a groove (think a Jamaican sound system), dub (think an echo chamber), and guitar solos. That's us.
