Hey, thanks for checking this out! Im rory butler,i was borne in bristol and now live in edinburgh and have done for a while now. I grew up in a recording studio all my life (my dad being an engineer) and so have always been surrounded by musicians. Meeting all sorts of interesting musicians at a very young age was really kl and i have no doubt that i benefited from that. one of which was iain archer, who i have even done a couple of gigs with at greenbelt, which was a reall treat! Recently i have been writing a lot of accoustic songs and playing fairly small gigs at festivals like greenbelt and also trying to play at some open mic gigs and stuff. But on these two new tracks i have tried to add some more instruments in and playing with how i can make things sound. I recorded them on a tiny little 8-track in my room, (zoom mrs-8), which is great for putting things down, but i dont know if the quality is that great. Funny about the drums on 'this one first', they were done by a 11 year old boy who lives next door who fancied a bit of recording! so yea, please leave a comment on what you think the stuff is like. I aslo made a little e.p with some accoustic songs i wrote on it, ill put some of that up aswell. Thanks for reading this, it would be great to hear some input on these songs! cheers!
Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show.
We play a few shows in Scotland, but we do have an Edinburgh date in Leith at a place called The Village on Thursday, June 5th. I hope you can make it?
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.
