Rory would listen and learn from the likes of Lonnie Donegan, Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Jerry Lee Lewis, many of whom Rory went on to record with.

Rory is my ABSOLUTE fav guitarist, I was fortunate to see him one time, at an outdoor festival in Germany 1977 with Santana, Thin Lizzy, Santana and Udo Lindburg. What a powerhouse show THAT was! Rory had the whole stadium stomping, I can' t recall how many encores we brought him out for, but he earned his money that night, and as they say; "The crowd went wild"
