The Rory Miller Band is relatively new to the Chicago music scene. When the band debuted this past summer at Lily's in Lincoln Park, people poured in from Lincoln Avenue to see the band play and listen to the music. The Rory Miller Band followed up their inaugural gig at Lily's with a captivating performance on the main stage at the Porcupine Music Festival in Ontonagon, Michigan. In the time since the band's creation, the Rory Miller Band has attracted an impressive following of fans. In FameCast's search for the next music phenomenon, the Rory Miller Band ranked third out of 298 singer/songwriter entries in FameCast's season three competition and was invited to perform live in Austin, Texas. The Rory Miller Band routinely plays to packed houses across the Chicago land area.
The Rory Miller Band takes its name from the incredible
singer/songwriter at its helm. Rory Miller's poetic, honest lyrics coupled with her melodic guitar style ignite the creativity of her band mates. Motivated by Rory's song writing, band members convene; inspirations flow and dynamics evolve into musical magic. Although the Rory Miller Band's incarnation was recent, the musicians that constitute the Rory Miller Band are veterans of the Chicago music scene:
Rory Miller is a captivating vocalist that plays a high energy acoustic guitar and sings with a powerful, emotive voice. If you love acoustic guitar, Rory's style is innovative and incorporates alternate tunings and a partial capo.
John Arrotti/Drummer:
Arrotti has played with a variety of different bands
and takes rhythm to a new level. He brings soul
and feeling to the music and plays with an
appreciation for his trade that comes streaming
from the stage. His upbeat rhythm and natural
talent, establishes a strong musical foundation—
the main framework of (Band Name). Arrotti
uses his own style and a certain precision, making
him much more than a drummer, but an essential
element of the group.
Joe Arellano is a passionate guitar player that does not believe in wasting
a note. An appreciator of the Blues and Blues Rock, Joe's major
guitar influences include: Mike Bloomfield, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy
Page, Gary Moore and Eric Johnson. In addition to his vast experience
performing at festivals and venues throughout Chicago land, Joe's
guitar playing adds soul and depth to the Rory Miller Band's music.
John Behnke plays bass guitar with a squwankin' tone that will have you reverberating up off your seat. John's musical influences are diverse and his bass playing can morph into whatever the musical style du jour. Having played in several garage bands before the term was coined; John brings a wealth of experience and enormous creativity into the Rory Miller band.
