What else could we do?
Those who love music and cannot even play the tambourine, have only one choice. Right, start their own record company. That's the story. We called our little company Rosa Records. Rosa, because it's the name of a stepdaughter of one of us. Rosa, because in all those American movies you can always find a Mexican cleaning lady whose name is Rosa. And that tells something about the spirit of the company. The music and the musicians are the most important. We are only there to clean up the mess and make it all possible.
Rosa Records releases music that the two founders of the company love. That's the philosophy of Rosa Records in a nutshell. It reflects the taste of Robbie Klanderman, who some people will know as the Dutch promoter of American music that matters, and Frans Lomans, who in his spare time is the editor in chief of the magazine Sportweek and music writer.
We think that we are one of the best labels in the world. Hell, of course we do, arrogant bastards that we are. If we didn't have confidence in our own taste we wouldn't have started it. We can only hope that there are a lot of people that share that taste, who also love adventurous Americana, alternative country and roots music with balls.
