Sounds LikeIt's hard to describe the sound. By putting the label "southern rock" on a band, it always seems to take originality right out the window. We all have a broad range of influence and we utilize that fully when writing new material, so we just call our sound A.W.S.M. and it sums it up (Ass-Whoopin'-Swamp-Music).

   About ROSCO CAINE
Will Sabo, Steve Wheeler, GT, and Fred Heater are Rosco Caine, a southern rock band from Jacksonville,Fl.
Will Sabo played most recently in the local J'ville band Thirteenth Stone. Making a decent name for themselves and quickly becoming one of the most popular, original unsigned bands in the area. In early(Jan) 2008, Thirteenth Stone disbanded, sending Will in a darker direction. Writing new material and revamping other originals, he began building towards what would be today's line-up. There were a couple of early incarnations of the band, in order to see how well the response would be to Will's swamp-rock project. The response was overwhelming, but as Will puts it, "I am as abrasive as 80 grit sandpaper and pretty hard to work with, at times. It's not from ego, which I get accused of. It's more about this project, to me than anyone else, it seems. So, finding the right guys, is like a trial and error thing. While I have worked with some great musicians and some great guys, I am into this for the long haul. Much love to everyone I have ever worked with, they may not all send love back, but I wouldn't trade the guys I am working with now for anything."

Steve Wheeler, most known for his work in The Danny Joe Brown Band, and as a founder of The Southern Rock Rebellion, and locally, as the founding lead guiatrist for Big Engine, came in early '09. A former friend told Steve about Will, and Steve showed some interest. He had met Will on a couple of occasions, but nothing more than in-between sets. After a few rehearsals, it was on. Steve and Will have formed strong alliance, they work well on stage together. They also have very similar ideas for the direction of both the music and the band.

Sabo on Steve: "Steve is an absolute guitar god, an "A-List"er. I am honored to have him. I like Steve as a person and respect him and admire him as a musician. I just hope I can deliver vocally, half of what he will deliver with his guitar work. He is a special guy to have on board, and he is just as dedicated as I am, to taking this(Rosco Caine) as far as we can. I mean, when you are fortunate enough to have a world-class guitarist, such as Steve, you better bring your "A" game, and Steve inspires my "A" game. I just hope he is as happy working with me as I am to have him.

Greg Thompson , A.K.A. Gee Tee Bass, hooked up with R.C. after a hole opened up on in the rhythm section. G.T. had made a name for himself in south and central Florida, and is also building quite a reputation in the NE Florida region. He has worked with some very good musicians, and seemed the perfect man for the job. He has brought an edge to the position that it was needing. His presence, onstage and off, compliments the rest of the players. He and Will had worked the original music circuit in and around Jacksonville together a few years before. Will was very impressed with his playing and showmanship, as was everyone else. Since the addition of G.T., in October of 2009, the shows have stepped up in both intensity and quality. This is only getting better.

Sabo on G.T. Bass: "The guy brings so much. A great look, a great attitude, tremendous skill and showmanship. I don't know what else to say. He had some pretty big shoes to fill, and I was hopeful, but I had no idea just how awesome he would be. He stepped in, with very little warning, and brought it...seriously. He gets it. We all sync up pretty well onstage and the fans freakin' love him. We were never really worried about the transition, because we knew he was a pro. We are all having fun working together and that's crucial. I mean, this is a business, but you need to have chemistry and be able to work together, cohesively. G.T. has brought everything to this and I wouldn't want it to change. Onward and upward. If we can keep the train rolling at this break-neck speed, with a little grace from God, we should be here for a long, long time."

Fred Heater stepped in on drums after the former drummer's departure, due to personal differences. Heater had been working as the drummer for The Steve Wheeler Band. Fred has been drumming around town for some time and was a fantastic addition to the line-up. He brings a solid dependability into his position that was missing. His ability on drums is only surpassed by his professionalism. Exactly what Rosco Caine needed, Heater brought. A worthy counterpart to the already strong cast of characters.

I have a ton of respect for Fred. He is a welcome addition. We kind've threw him under the bus, with very little rehearsal time, and he just stepped in and brought it. That seems to be our M.O. We don't like to cancel shows, so we only have time for first-class players. Fred is that. He is a strong, solid drummer, but he's very soft-spoken. Just an all around nice guy. A bit of a contrast to the rest of us. I'll say this, don't let his soft side fool ya, he's a sick puppy when he needs to be. I have worked with alot of drummers, and I think in Rosco Caine's case, we found our guy."

Definitely, whether you like old school southern rock, or you want to hear something new that kicks ass, Rosco Caine is a must see!
Ass-Whoopin'-Swamp-Music!!
Keep an eye/ear out, the guys are soon to be starting production for the long awaited debut CD. More info to come!
