About me:
Since 1998, Rose & Thorn has showcased some of the best prose and poetry on the Internet. Our site was founded by Jasmin Randick as an AOL member page. After our first issue, Randick was joined by Barbara Quinn, an award winning short-story writer and novelist. The two co-managed Rose & Thorn until 2003. After Randick’s departure, the online magazine continued under the stewardship of Quinn at www.theroseandthornezine.com.
In June 2009, the magazine transferred management to Angie Ledbetter and Kathryn Magendi who are proud to introduce Rose & Thorn’s new home at www.roseandthornjournal.com
Rose & Thorn’s literary journal is produced quarterly and features fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry. Its blog, “Roses & Thorns,” highlights author interviews, book reviews, and resources for writers. The Rose & Thorn newsletter is emailed free to subscribers four times a year to announce upcoming issues.
Rose & Thorn seeks to bring the voices of emerging and established writers to a discerning audience. We strive to reflect a diversity of style, content, and perspective in the short-fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry showcased each quarter in Rose & Thorn Journal.
Our goal is to provide readers with a variety of resources that offer insight into the writing process and writing life. Through the postings at our blog, “Roses & Thorns,” we endeavor to convey what motivates the writer to create as well as the passion that sustains him or her in the craft.
It is our love of the literary arts and respect for the creative process that compels us to provide a place of exchange and inspiration for the poet and author.
Who I'd like to meet: Those who love and appreciate the written word whether it is from a best selling author, a little known poet or even a child struggling to paint a picture with words.
Anyone who is driven to put into words an experience, a story, a thought or a dream.

Wander through four pages of poetry by many fine poets from various points across the globe... then lose yourself in a collection of stories, essays, and a memoir that will haunt you for days. Continue your tour of Greece, part two, then don't forget to read the book reviews. Gracing these pages with watercolor and oil paintings, etchings and charcoal sketches is the artwork of Viestarts Aistars.
Thanks for the add! GUD (pronounced "good") is a print/pdf magazine of 200 pages of genre and literary fiction, poetry, and a splash of art. :) See our profile for information on reviews, freebies, and submission guidelines!
