Since the 50’s and 60’s France has been a cultural magnate for American Jazz and blues musicians.
Things have not changed! France is still a bastion of artistic appreciation where the arts still flourish to this day. Enter “Rosebud Blue Sauce”. The love of Jazz and blues has inspired these musicians who all discovered the American art form at an early age. This recording is a testament to the devotion and prowess of there interpretation of the medium before you! Nico Duportal, Guitar and vocals captures the swing’n sounds reminiscent of T bone walker, Teddy Bunn, Gatemouth brown and many others. The upright bass, which is so important for an authentic sound and feel is laid down by Abdel Bouyousfi. Abdel is as solid as a rock. His intonation and ability to improvise is obvious on the tracks before you. Perhaps the most Important musician in any form of music is the drummer. His roll is to apply technique, dynamics and time. Pascal Delmas, who’s father taught him how to play the drums in traditional French music made the jazz blues transition with relative ease!
His contribution to this recording is apparent. Benjamin Conti handles the saxophone arrangements with a laidback edge that comes from listening to all the great sax players of past and present. His approach is simple and to the point. Together, these musicians have for the most part demonstrated an unfailing love for the art form of Jazz and Blues! I hope you enjoy the disc has much as I enjoyed working and playing with a great bunch of Guys! Their music is not copied or imitated, it is genuine and from the heart! As any listener will agree!!!

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
