Born William Eckel, Bill adopted the stage name of Dollar Bill. Bill is married and is the father of one son, his pride and joy, Daymon. Daymon is a senior at University of Oklahoma (OU), and will be attended classes in Japan this past summer.
Bill's musical influences range from musical greats Diana Ross and The Supremes to Ted Nugent and Travis Tritt. Bill's hero is country comedian Ray Steven's who he fondly calls The Man.
Dollar Bill has written two award-winning screenplays. The latest being F.U.B.A.R. which is under development to be made into a movie. He is currently arranging for the funding of another script to be made into a movie entitled OPRY. Both movies to be shot in Oklahoma.
Under the pseudonym of Dollar Bill, Bill has played several hundred performances through out North America. Dollar Bill has made several television appearances including Morning Cup from Durant, OK to the more controversial Bob Enyart Live in South Bend, Indiana to promote Bill's first self produced album project entitled The Patriot Project on his own label.
Bill Eckel is a prolific songwriter with over two hundred songs to his credit. Every since Bill was signed to Rosebud Records, he has been busier than a one arm paper hanger. Dollar Bill has recorded his debut album entitled One Swell Foop for Rosebud Records. The album produced by Nashville record producer Bobby Terry and features the “Power Trio” is available in stores now.

Including a parody of the old song Convoy entitled Yard Sale. Yard Sale was featured as a single and made available for radio distribution through MACOUNTRY Nashville's leading radio compilation sampler.
Dollar has been the featured comedian on the MACountry disc numerous times, with some of Nashville's biggest stars including: Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Lee Roy Parnell, Bryan White, Lila McCann, David Ball, Lorrie Morgan, Anita Cochran, and many more major recording artists.
Yard Sale was also featured on The Rosebud Radio Sampler and Yard Sale peaked on high on the charts throughout Europe. Speaking of charts, Bill's, The Winston peaked at 10 on mp3 and How Can Someone Stupid Be My Boss peaked in January at number eight.
Dollar Bill Eckel Fan Fair Remembered
Dollar Bill Eckel is a big supporter of his fans and Fan Fair. The CMA Music Fest “Fan Fair” always provides the perfect opportunity for Dollar Bill to meet and greet his thousands of fans. Dollar Bill has many fond memories from Fan Fair’s in the past and always looks forward to the next event.
Even though Dollar Bill had broken and dislocated his shoulder in a softball tournament just prior to Fan Fair 2000, being the trooper that he is Bill did not disappoint his fans. He signed autographs for hours at a time with his "broken wing" and Dollar Bill was a featured performer and wowed a standing room only crowd at The Boardwalk Cafe during the Rosebud Fan Fair Show.
Rosebud recording artists Dollar Bill appeared at the CMA Music Fest Fan Fair 2005 making a special appearance in The Wrangler Building and appearing for two hours at the Rosebud Records Booth in his shirt and tie and underwear. The fans loved it. Not sure if fellow artist, John Berry, who was signing next door, was impressed, but John did say he thought Dollar had great legs.
Dollar Bill also appeared at Rosebud Records “Unplugged” held at the Crossroads Night Club next door to the Ernest Tubb Record Shop during Fan Fair 2005.
