We wouldn't be the first to say music should not be described or explained, but rather listened to and appreciated.
Whatever.
Big Star divorced the Faces, got re-married to Earth, Wind and Fire, then settled down in the Midwest and gave birth to the Afghan Whigs. What you didn't know was that it had a mistress on the side who gave birth to a bastard child, which later fathered Rosedale. So we share a Y chromosome with the Whigs, but had a nicer mother. And while the Whigs count Aerosmith as an older cousin and dated Prince (who didn't?), we had Springsteen for a godfather and ran around with Superchunk.
Ernie Moran sings tales of the evil that men and women do to each other, and the guilt and blame they try to pin on one another. Austin Green sets the pace, slow when necessary, or quick when excitable. Rush Olson caresses -- or violent strikes -- the low notes, while Dachun Hong makes the high notes scream, wail and cry in ecstasy.
Does that make sense? Who knows. We're probably 15 years too young to be talking about bands from 30 years ago.
But as a wise writer once opined, "Out of the mouths of babes..."
Now, if only Greg would invite us to the family reunion...
love your stuff guys, keep it up! ernie that was a great song you did at your dad's house christmas eve, loved it. send us more pics of diego, i can't get enough of the kid!
Dude. That story's hilarious, even if I only know half of the bands...But that's cool how your band pic is in the style of ("Let it Be" by The Beatles, but that's besides the point) "Demon Days" by Gorillaz, which is my favourite album! That's a good omen! And that means Ernie would be Murdoc! Congrats on Diego, c u l8r!

I would love to but it looks like Patrick is on the sick side he's feeling a bit under the weather. You guys rock out and show them how it's done ;) -C
