The first album Rosemary bought was a Johnny Mathis Album...
First, there were The Rapunzels with Rosemary and Shele Pinnizotto....then Rosemary, very early in her career had recorded on ABC Dunhill with the Ladybirds... Instead of going to her senior prom, she opened for the Rolling Stones with The Ladybirds...
Then... out of Orange County, California came the all-girl garage band "The Daisy Chain", who released the album "Straight or Lame" on the label called United International in 1967. Here's a link to a review of that album:
BIRTHA was formed as an all girl Rock band with Shele Pinizzotto on guitar, vocals, Sherry Hagler keyboards, Olivia Favela on drums and of course, Rosemary Butler on the bass. Birtha released their self-titled Album "Birtha" and also released a follow-up "Can't Stop The Madness". Some of the hits included a single release of the cover of
"Dirty Work" (Steely Dan) and "Original
Midnight Mama"........
Birtha led to touring with the likes of BB King, Three Dog Night and The Who and more...and they did the 1972 Rockingham Festival!
Please if you have ANY photos or video of Rosemary you'd like to see on here, send them our way and we will DEFINITELY put them on!!!

Really love your work with James Taylor. You, Arnold and the rest are amazing! I remember you were listed once years ago to teach a UCLA Extension course. I regret not signing up.
Sorry it's sideways. The gal with the cam shot it vertically instead of horizontally. It's nonetheless a stunning performance. Plus, Rosemary always defied gravity anyways.
Thanks Very Much For Adding Me! I Really Expect To See You Somewhere On The Earth Some Day. I'll Be So Glad If You Take A Look At My Space And Try Listening To My Songs. Thank You again♪
For those in L.A., please join us on Saturday, May 9 at Venice’s Talking Stick Coffee Lounge from 7-10 p.m. for Grassroots Acoustica #23: Mid-Year Choir Reunion Edition spotlighting several longtime members of the National InChoir. So expect to hear Rosemary Butler, Lois Blaisch ,Karen Tobin , hopefully Gary Stockdale, and special guest Dan Navarro as well as members of our own troupe. No cover charge but 100% of any contributions will benefit the Los Angeles chapter of the ALS Association in observation of May being National ALS Awareness Month.
I have lost two close friends to ALS. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation to your local chapter.
Also, do not forget my favorite charity, "Shoes That Fit". STF supplies shoes and socks to needy elementary and middle school kids. Please visit their web site at www.shoesthatfit.org. I know you will want to give generously. A donation of $20 buys a pair of athletic shoes and $10 buys three pairs of socks.
Hey, Kevin, Yeah, there IS a video of me playing a gig in the park with Chris Pinnick and Chet McCracken. I just have to do some homework to edit it down and then employ help so I can get it onto myspace. Promise. How are you, anyway??????
