"Drawing was, in a way, my first love. I'm interested in trying to get to grips with what drawing is for different people, comparing more finished works by established artists with drawing-as-a-way-of-thinking or simply passing the time."

HACKNEY WICK-ED ARTS FESTIVAL!!
Thank you all those you made it down to my open studio event as part of Hackney Wicked Arts Festival. It was great to see so many of you there, and to get to meet some of you too. For anyone interested, I've put some pictures up on my website of the opening night and a few of the festival at large. I had over a 1000 visitors throughout the whole weekend, for those you you that made it, I hope you enjoyed the festival as much as I did.
We all hope that Hackney Wicked will continue to grow and be bigger and better next year. We have had some fantastic press leading up to the festival, which secured that there was plenty of people to create a great buzz around the streets of our otherwise industrial ghost town over the weekend. I was very impressed with the diverse talent Hackney Wick had to offer from the hundreds of studios and galleries which opened their doors, to live music and cabaret performances.
A big Thank You for all those involved and to everyone that came and enjoyed it and made it all possible. I look forward to Hackney WickED 2010!

Alongside Rosie’s exhibition, on the Friday night the other hundreds of creative studios and major art galleries in Hackney Wick will be opening their doors to the public and following this is a weekend of fun with the streets coming alive on Saturday with parties, fetes, pottery workshops, film screenings, face painting, stalls, live music and much, much more.
All this will be set off by a closing party on the Sunday which will include a procession, barbeque, boat rides and the burning of the wicker man.
