Over the Summer months I went a little crazy with my 8-track: I set myself the daily ritual of writing and recording a brand new tune/song. The rules were: no more than one take. No tweaking once mastered. No rules. ALWAYS following my gut insticts. I wanted to capture the mood of each day much in the same way in which an artist would make a daily sketch. In fact, the idea of "a tune per day" was influenced by artist Ian Craig who was embarking on a similar creative mission but with art rather than music. We ping-ponged our ideas back and forth via the 'net over the Summer months. Somehow I managed to keep up the pace, delivering a tune per day for nearly three months. The more I wrote, the more I wanted to write. Somewhere along the line Ian and myself agreed that it would be a great idea to interpret some of these short, spontaneous songs via video. In the end, I reluctantly had to take a break from the writing because I was moving house and this pause in activity seemed like a perfect time to meet up and start filming! Below is the result of our collaboration so far (more on the way):
"Rosie's Bloopers". A selection of outtakes from the recent video shoots....
Hi Rosie, I know I've said it before but your music is one of the country's best kept secrets. I was thrilled to have you perform at the Doghouse again. (Put the bucket away I really mean it!) Thanks, Howard x

Hi Rosie How are you? Why are you not yet on Young God Records??? Jonathans birthday drink this tues or weds if you and Dan are about? My Murder is cool :)
OH my god, Rosie - haven't been checking out myspace lately, and checked out your page. YOUR NEW SONGS ARE AMAZING...JUST AMAZING. You completely blow my mind. LOVE KC
Wow, the new songs are fantastic! Just listened to them all the way through. Unfathomable is my favourite, I like those kinds of circular melodies, and the point at which the drums come in is a treat... an instant classic. Nice to hear you rocking out on My Murder, especially that aggressive bass line. Closing In is fab too. I've always liked your songwriting, but I do think it's getting better and better, and I'd still love to produce a Rosie Rojo album one day.
Have you considered facebook? I don't come around these myspace parts much these days, since it became a spam factory for all the bands in my friends list, and a self-appointed pale imitation of facebook.
