Sounds Like
The face of Rock being pumped by the sex stick that is Funk, then man splashed with a drop of Blues, Jazz and Punk = the Orgy of Noise that is Rothchild.
Formed in the summer of 2006 the four members of Rothchild started life together as a band called “Back Alley Sally”.
Jay (drums) and Dan (bass) had performed together in a previous band and when that ended they quickly recruited Dan’s cousin James ( lead guitar) and charismatic frontman Lorenzo (vocals) and so “Back Alley Sally” was born.
During their 18 months as “Back Alley Sally” the four enjoyed tremendous recognition and success and built up a considerable fan base.
Their ever expanding repertoire of original material led to time in Monnow Valley Studios, Monmouth, where they recorded their early material, capturing the band’s funky, rocking, guitar driven essence in tracks such as “Martian America”, “Smokers’ Will”, British Airways”, “Mr Judgeman”, “Jimmy’s Gender”, and “Rocked Out” which is a tribute to late great musical legends such as Hendrix and Dimebag Darrel.
This EP coupled with their highly entertaining and energetic performances led them to perform at several festivals across the UK and at acclaimed venues such as The Astoria and Carling Academy, London and The Point, Cardiff, and the awesome opportunity to support such great bands as UFO, Thunder, The Answer, Rattlesnake Remedy, Tigertailz and Electric Eel Shock, the latter performance leading to an excellent review in Kerrang Magazine Issue 1191 January 2008.
As well as Kerrang the band has been fortunate to receive large media coverage locally and in national magazines such as Classic Rock and Fireworks Melodic Rock Magazine and received frequent local and global internet radio play, giving live interviews.
More recently the band has concentrated their time on song writing and expanding their catalogue of tracks from the hugely popular “Dirty Love” with its fast and furious guitar and bass solo to classic rock ballads such as “Obsessed” and the aptly named Rock Anthem “The Big Guns”
2008 will see the band touring further across the UK and into Europe in Festivals and venues.
In February 2008 the band changed their name to “Rothchild” and teamed up with SLW Promotions. Armed with a new name and new addition to the team Rothchild look forward to the future with nothing but enthusiasm and optimism.
